I'm not a big headphone fan, but I figured, what the heck. I asked Santa for a set of Grado's.

What are you asking for?

I asked for a pair of LPG 26T Titanium tweeters and bi-wire binding posts for my 2 ch speakers project. Lautsprecher Produktions-Gesellschaft (LPG) is the parent company of the better known Eton speakers company.

Here is a speaker (Aerial Acoustics) that uses this tweeter.

    hmm....what have I asked for....

Well, first off, I've asked for a Factory Five 65 Roadster, a Yamaha P-120, MM6 component speakers for my Jeep, a HSU STF-2 sub, and.....LOL

    Now, what I'm getting, lol
    1) Pioneer Premier DEH-P860MP
    2) HiFonics or some such low-end stereo amp
    3) Polk db 5250 speakers

So, I reckon I'm havin' a pretty nice Christmas. I wouldn't mind getting a DVD player for my home rig, as I'm REALLy not happy with using my computer as my source. I'd like a Yamaha DVD-S1500, Pioneer Elite AV47-A, or a Cambridge Soundsworks 640D or what not. Guess I'll hafta wait a while on that, though.

How's this for meeting your spouse half way. With my 40th b-day only 8 days after xmas I asked for the permission to purchase guilt free with side job money, a new preamp and amplifier. I still gotta make it but when I do there will be no eyerolling or compalining about the kids college accounts. I think thats pretty big of me. :) Merry Christmas

This year......nothing. I'm happy with what I've got. I think I'd like a big bag of "More Time" though. More time with my wife. More time with my kids. More time with my family.

Yeah I'd like just a bit of "More Time."

Other than that I'm good to go.

I don't get all the hype over the Ipods. I mean, they're pretty compact, but I would seriouly look at/consider the Creative Zen Touch (20 gb unit) that is just as functional and has a few more capabilities than that of the Ipod.....and for about 1 Franklin less. Another one that I had for a little bit was the I-River 20 GB unit. The most impressive thing about that for me was the transfer speeds. I don't know how, but I pushed 11GB to that thing in under 2 minutes.

I have the 40 GB ZEN (non touch) and haven't ever had any complaints about that thing. They had some initial problems with the spring latch, but that's since been resolved. Also, for the battery life on the Ipods, it's about half (per a tech magazine I read up on these things) of what the Zen did. One other thing is that with the Ipods, if your battery dies and you have to replace it, you have to send it in or you risk voiding your warranty. I don't know specifically how the Zen Touch's work with batteries, but I know that the non-touch units have a removable cover that you can get to, and replace, the battery if you need to without dealing with warranty bs.

Same for me. I am at that little plateau too. All these goodies and no time. No time for the family, no time for me, just work, work, and more work.
