What is everyone's feeling for rear speakers (on the back wall) for a home theater? I have Rt1000i's for mains and a Cs400i (coming from Crutchfield) for a center. I wanted F/x 500i's but the price has not come down and Brandnamez can't deliver. I was thinking of F/x 300i's or Rt35i's. It's a large room. I will be using a Denon 1802 (or maybe a 2802) for the receiver. I'll do a sub later if it's needed.
This is my second H/T as I'm finishing off the basement. My existing in the FR is a Pioneer Elite VSX36TX, Boston Micro 100's for mains,Boston VR 910 for a center, Boston Micro 90's for rears, and a Boston PV 600 sub.
What's everyone's feelings?

I have a pair of RT 25i's for my room. They may be a little to small for you but they really do put out fantastic sound. For rear speakers I feel they do more than an adequate job.

I debated between FX500's and RT35's for several weeks and finally went for the RT35's. I have a 7.1 system with the Denon 3801 and decided on the RT35's for my rear wall. The rest of my speakers are full range and include RT 800i's as my mains and a CS350 for the center channel. The RT35's sound great as an addition to the system and do quite well with the other speakers.

I don't know about the 35's, but I believe that you will have no problems with the 500's. I have them in my setup, I have no complaints at all. They are very versitile. I am useing them with a yamaha rxv-995, psw-650, cs-400i, sda-srs 2.3 tl's with the addition of sequerra's 10-2 line source tweeter towers on top for added airyness. The 500's blend in very nicely.
good luck, Crystal-clear:D -
I own both and believe the 35i to be more bang for the buck. Then again, I'm more of a music guy and don't feel as though I get enough use from my 500i's to justify the money spent. However, if you're going to use them correctly (I believe this to be side-wall mounted and set to dipole) perhaps it's worth the investment. I have them as rears in 5.1 system and don't really like this effect. I'm partial to the 35i's, not to mention that they're cheaper.

I don't know about you, but I like to keep all 4 channels matched for sound. IF YOU HAVE THE ROOM, I would put the RT35i in the back...they are probably best matched to your 1000s.
As for price, forget Crutchfield. They have failed my 4 times now! In Arizona, they have a store called Fry's electronics. They have the best polk selection and display I have ever seen. To top it off, you can get a pair of 35i for $199!!!! (I bought 8 of them)
Also, I think the 35i is being discontinued...and thats why the price is so good. -
8 of them? I wish that I had 4 let alone 8.

Thanks for all the comments, I will probably go with the 35's as I forgot (until it was mentioned) that they will be used for music as well as H/T. It is going to be a play/party room.
