800i tweak in stereo times review ?

I cut and pasted this from the 800i review in stereo times that is referenced in the Polk website . . . .

" I had read that sonic improvements often resulted from replacing the gold-plated jumpers (used to strap the binding posts) with high quality speaker wire. I tried it and boy did it work! This simple tweak added a greater degree of realism to the reproduction, which resulted in my music and movies being even more enjoyable and enveloping."

Now, I want to make sure I understand this properly:

-does this consist of removing the gold plated plate connecting the 4 binding post (2 top posts and 2 bottom posts) and using the spkr wire to hook up the spkr's top (-) to bottom (-) and the top (+) to the bottom (+)

Has anyone tried this? If so, did you notice an improvement?

    you are correct.

i, however, have not tried this. i have my rt800i's bi-wired. it is a cheaper alternative to bi-wiring, not sure the results in produces though. wouldn't be hard or expensive for you to try...

2-3 hours after purchasing my 400i's, I get an e-mail from crutch saying that my 400i has just shipped - Wow, quick response!

I'm almost tempted to pay crutch the 400 $/pair of F/X500i's rather than wait on brandnamez to get them in stock - the peace of mind is almost worth the price premium

crutchfield is great! i've used them on alot of car audio installs, and they know their ****. couldn't figure out how to get to the front left speaker in my brother's jeep, called them up, they talked me though taking the e-brake assembly apart from under the hood. also got the ACC hooked in on my a2 jetta(wiring in the steerin column). ****, i would have been stuck if i didn't get it from them. their service is right up their with polk's!!!
