Good PQ and SQ.

The DTS soundtrack is superior to the Dolby Digital. It definitely has more depth. I could easily pick it out in my blind testing. The background music really comes alive in the DTS version. The DTS track is louder in comparison, but even when you turn up the DD track, it doesn't match the depth of the DTS track. Tracks 4 and 10 both start out with music, so it makes it easy to flip back and forth to compare.

Nice surround effects at 18:08, 36:26.

Good low bass in Chapter 16, and at 50:01, 1:14:48, 1:30:38, 1:39:28, 1:44:50.

Nice **** at 52:18.

Regards,
PolkThug

I would never have heard of "Superbit" if it wasn't for this club. Thanks! I bought Spiderman 2 to get my feet wet. I am currently playing it on my laptop, so I can't comment on the sound, but, I could certainly see a sharper and more detailed picture. I do not own a "Standard issue" Spiderman 2 disc to compare it to, but the "Superbit" blows away the movies I have with me.

OUt of all the titles offered, the only other discs I want are "Spiderman" and "Labyrinth." I must not be in the target audience they are selling to.

Best Buy was running a special on superbit, buy two get one free, had some decent titles depending on your individual tastes, I think it is a short term one week thing.

If you check ebay out there are more titles then are listed on the sony site. I am not sure why. I tried searching for superbit dvd's on best buy but they do not list them that way.

It says that "higher quality" dvd players will display them best.
What players are supposed to be used to notice a benefit?
I'd buy some if my dvd player showed a difference.
Right now I guess I'm happy with the regular ones for the most part.

That holds true for any DVD.

Since I don't have a good dvd player(I'm already aware of that), and my receiver doesn't do DTS, it probably won't make a big difference if I did get the superbit versions. I was looking at getting the Mask of Zorro superbit, but I think I'll hold off until my player is upgraded.

    Thanks,

on my 13 yr old Zenith TV i did notice a small improvement in the video quality when watching at Superbit dvd. but now that i have an HDTV i seriously don't notice any such improvements anymore. it puts out an excellent picture reguardless of whether it's superbit or not.

I can't find the SpiderMan superbit anywhere anymore. BB and CC both said they are sold out.. and not expecting anymore.

CC doesn't have too many superbit dvds... at least not in the store I work at in Austin. I've only found three: The Quick and the Dead, Adaptation, and Charlie's Angel's. The only time I shop at BB is for superbit dvd's, they have tons over there. Otherwise, order off Amazon.

Yes, I work in CC home audio.

Thanks to this board I went hunting for this DVD. I ended up getting a used copy of Spider-man1 superbit for 15.99. It is outstanding!

Hunting patiently to score a used Spider-man 2 superbit.

I have had great experience with them as well. Free shipping and no tax for me. Deliver can be slow, but its more often than not reasonable. My only complaint is that the two DVDs I ordered were box sets (Simpsons seasons 4 & 5) and thus were not in hard cases and both times the corners were slightly dented from minimal but effective packing.

I don't get what's so great about DeepDiscount DVD. Seems that everytime I want to get a new release DVD, the best place to buy it is Best Buy or Wal-Mart during the first week of its release, even with tax included. However, I did notice that King Arthur (now $20 at BB) can be had for $16.14 at DeepDiscount DVD.

Maybe it has something to do with better prices at DeepDiscount DVD after the DVD's first week of its release?

Iam new to buying from DDD myself , but ya just kinda gotta look for deals or promotions . What got me interested in buying from DDD is the Thankgiving and Christmas sale they had with 20% off anything instock . I picked up the Star Wars Trilogy for $31 SHIPPED among others ! No tax is another plus (for California peeps) .
I guess its just a matter of finding what ya want, and at possibly a better price than most other stores (once the first week release sales are over) .
All-in-all not a bad place to shop for dvd's and they do have some Superbits that others do not .
