PSW202 - last year's model - rear firing port, black only
PSW10 - current model, front firing port, black or cherry

There may be other differences, these are apparent.

Right I would like to know if the 10 has the good amp or the possible faulty amp of the 202

Sounds like a question for Ken. I recently purchased a 202 NIB on eBay for $100, and registered it online here for warranty - no problem. If it ends up having a problem with the amp, my guess is Polk will fix it.

Edit - just followed Mike's thread and I believe Ken answered the crux of the question: the amp isn't "faulty" (as in poor design, etc.), some of them had a component failure.

To quote Ken: "we'll quickly repair and modify your amplifier and get it back to you. The problems relate to the integrated circuit that produces the output power. A small percentage of them develop a flaw, perhaps in the covering material, and require replacing. I believe we also upgrade some of the power supply filter caps. This is not a problem with the design, itself, only a part used in the output section of the amplifier. No matter how much anything is tested there can always be unseen flaws that can cause problems. But, that's what we're here for."

And, from my experience here, I can assure you he's very sincere about that last sentence.

Good luck with your deliberations on the correct sub for you. My 202 fits nicely with the modest HT setup here, and I'm very pleased with the price I paid.
