dilema.....

The rti8's are on sale right now for 749Cad....Polkis offering their free sub ...... My wife has agreed I can buy them if I can sell the sub. I have someone willing to buy it. My dilema is she throws in here and there....when will I get my vacation....if you buy them you will break your promise of a vacation...in the same breath...oh go ahead they would look really nice in our living room and aslong as you can sell the sub......I'm not sure what I should do...If I buy them I feel selfish that she won't get a trip right away....but then I'm not sure if I can score a deal like this ever again......if I sell the sub for 250$ means the speakers will cost me 500$plus tax cad....thats a great deal.

Sounds like you need to be shopping for a big brass pair, or a new wife - instead of speakers.

    Cheers,

That's a call only you can make becuase no one else knows your whole situation...and it depends alot on timing...the decision that is right today may not necessarily be the right one next time, too many factors involved

Be careful about using that "but they're on sale for such a great price" line though, that can be turned around on you in the future. How great of a deal is it if it puts you out somewhere else???

It's all about sacrifices...who's turn is it, yours or hers...that's what it boils down to...

At the end of the day...it's just a pair of speakers...

If you're not sure, wait until they go on clearance when a new line comes out. You're talking about Futureshop.... that deal will most likely come up again. There are always deals to had somewhere, just be patient.

You ever make love to a pair of speakers? It hurts, that bass port is really unforgiving.

Of course this is easy for me to say, my wife doesn't mind me blowin bucks on audio....

All kidding aside, there will always be great deals comin' down the line. I wish I had a nickle for everytime I bought something thinking I could never do any better.

Take the gal on vacation. ;)

we had to stop off after work to pick some stuff. We walked into FS to buy my sister's BF a gift. I look around to see my wife talking to a rep about the 8s. She said we are going to get them. I said watch they wont have any in stock...if that is the case it's meant to be.....The guy is giving his speech about the deal...I say I know what we want I know what the deal is do you have them in stock...."hmm lemme check..........what do you know we have none left".....we walked out knowing that was a sign to forget about them for a long time.....I give hatys off to my wife for trying...

Dammit! I just looked on Crutchfield.com, and they do not ship out of the U.S. If you have any relatives close to the U.S./Canada border, that would be the key. Well I will keep my eyes opened for a good deal on a set of RTi8s that will ship out of the U.S.

I am wanting a new TV also. I was looking at getting a 51" or 57" Sony wide screen. I like the PQ on the Hitachi line, but I have heard a few bad things about those TVs.

What did you have in mind?

Oh yeah my friend. I love the Hitachi line, I just read a few posts about the Hitachi TVs flickering black and white lines. Is that true? I need to know because I plan on getting one early next year, and those would be the top two on my list. I am using a 4:3 aspect Panasonic right now.

I haven't seen flickering lines on mine, so if it's there, it must not be a problem. :)

I am easy to get turned away from what happens to other people. I know what I see in front of me, and no offense to Sony owners, but the Hitachi by far has the best picture out of the two brands (Hitachi and Sony). The problems that the others went through does not mean that all Hitachi PTV will do the same thing. I will keep you posted on what I decide Shoes. You know, the problems might the owners hook-up or the cables that are used. Also, all brands make a lemon or two every now and then. I am in no way putting down Hitachi. Damn good TV.:D
Which one do you have? I know from research that Hitachi makes their TVs with more lens elements than most other companies. I understand that this make for a far superior picture.
