i'm looking for the theile small para. for the polk component speakers. i have a set of db650, i believe, and was wondering what the ideal box size would be for the 6.5 midbass drivers. also trying to decide if i should put them in the doors, where they are now, or build kickpanels for them. i am looking for sound quality. also do i need to use the hu cutoff for these. currently have them hooked up to alpine mrv-f340 running in bridged mode.
also have a set of mb quart dw304 subs ran from a mtx thunder 2202 amp, am getting another amp to run these with. have the cutoff set at 80hz low for the subs and 80hz high for the components.
is there a 6x9 that you would recommend for a midbass? i am driving a 84 camaro and it has cutouts for them in the panel behind front seats.
the rear seats have been removed and the sub box is built there. also the amps are mounted on the axle hump behind the sub box.
i have a alpine hu mod. 9831 running the system. prob. is that i have a hole in the sys. that seems to be between the sub and midbass speakers i'v e tried different crossover settings but the only thing that seems to help is crosing them at around 100 hz BUT that also produces a boominess that i can't seem to get around unless i drop to 80.
help its driving me a little screwy been trying to work this out for over a year. thought that maybe adding a midbass in the 6x9 cutouts might cure the prob. i have a set of infinity 6x9 reference 6953i speakers that i could use a band pass with to help if anyone thinks this may work.
the other option is to purchase a dedicated midbass to install in the 6x9 cutout openings. suggestions? i'd like to enter this car in sound quality comp. but at the time these problems are preventing that.
