    Denon, Toshiba and Pioneer all make popular Uni-Players under 1K.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    If you want a DVD-A and SACD player, you should look into getting a player with seperate clocks for each format. I have heard Marantz makes one of these for around $1k. Don't know the model or the exact price though........

    If you are just getting into this format, which it looks like you are, seperate clocks should be the least of your concerns. Don't worry about it.

    Redbook = Regular CD
    DVD-A = DVD Audio
    DAC = Digital/Analog Converter

    Burr/Brown makes some of the best DAC's, and Denon uses them almost exclusively.

    Denon DVD-2910. Amazing all the way around and retails for around $600 or less. Now if you find the right price on one, pick up a DVD-3910 and don't look back. The analog out is probably about the best you can find under $2k from what I've been reading...

    Crutchfield was closing out the Denon 2900, a super player that went for grand when it was first introduced. They were way under a grand.
