Speaker Stands
I have heard a lot about proper speaker stands. Any suggestions for RTi38's at the rear. I have them matched with RTi100's at the front. Thanks folks.

I don't have much experience with Speaker Stands save putting my RTi6s on my old floorstanders, however, I read in the Polk Home Theater guide, that for Home Theater you want the tweeter to be 3 feet abover ear level for a more ambient sound.

If you're at all handy you could build your own to suit your taste. I built some loosely based on the flexi design. Here's a link to that thread.

There are lots of options when it comes to stands, a lot of which come down to personal taste. Some folks feel that a stand shound be filled with sand or lead shot in order tomake the speakers sound better. Others don't believe it makes a difference at all. Your ears will have to decide.
What most can agree on is the tweeter height. Generally the tweeters should be at ear level when seated. Don't be afraidto play around with placement and toe-in to find your "Happy Place.":D
Sanus and Lovan are a few brands to look at, but there are just to many list including the previously mentioned DIY option. -
I would try and get the speakers as high as possible, as surounds. What's important is stability, and the space you're working with...i.e. if you can put a good speaker stand where the speaker should go. Ideally, you should get the most solid platform possible. Seeing that the RT38's are about 15in high, I'd be looking at stands that are a minimum of 26" in height for surrounds. What immediatley comes to mind are the VTI stands, mainly because their baseplates are 6.5"W x 8"D, meaning a good platform for the RT's. Here are two good sources to start from.

Rears? Why are you thinking stands in the first place? Wall mount them, if at all possible would be my suggestion.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I had to make stands otherwise the speakers wouldn't face the same direction because my room is a stupid shape. I had mine on the walls for a little while but found them very obtrusive.

Doh! Stands for surrounds!! Whadyasay is correct, get 'em up higher. Tweeters should be 2-3' above ear level.

Mine are on stands which are at ear level.....it's the only way with the current speakers I use, they are rear ported and can't be wall mounted.

Hate those stupid-shaped rooms!
Also consider the Plateau V-30 (or similar designs) on the pages I linked...again, stabilitty is key here, since these are fairly large bookshelf speakers that you'll be mounting quite high.Polk LSi9 Mains, Polk LSIC Center, Polk RT25i Surrounds, Polk M3II Rear Surround, SVS PB10-ISD Sub, Denon AVR 2809 (as digital pre/pro only), Sony BDP-S350, Oppo DV-981HD, Cambridge Audio Azur 540C (CD), Marantz MM9000 5-ch amp, Outlaw ICBM, Panasonic th-42PX85u HDTV, Behringer BFD Pro, Monster Power HTS 2600 Conditioner -
Janmike, by the time you get stands shipped to your door they'll cost a fortune.
If you can't go the DIY route because you don't have shop access or something maybe I could help. I've got left over MDF and gloss black laminate from building my sub, and if I get some spare time in the near future maybe I could make the top and bottom plates for you. Then you'd just have to get some PVC pipe and readi-rod then cut to the length you want, paint and assemble.
