Maybe I've been missing this all along, but for those who didn't already know about it, these d_skin DVD protectors look like they'd work pretty well. Not cheap, but neither are the DVD's you're trying to protect.

That's a pretty slick idea, but I wonder if it takes away from anything on the DVDs or moreso the performance of your DVD players and CD players.

    Have you used them?

I don't believe so, at least they weren't designed to. I'll be picking up a 5-pack tomorrow and will report back on their "performance".

Yeah but at this point, dual-format DVD burners and media are cheap enough that you can copy the DVD's and play the copies instead of killing your expensive originals.

20 for $19.99 and 5 for $5.99....doesnt seem that expensive to me, a dollar a piece if you buy 20. a dollar doesnt seem so bad to protect your $20 DVD, **** for every DVD you ruin you could have bought 20 disc skins. instead of having to go out and buy the movie again.

Yeah, that's how I see it - a buck extra per DVD, and your good. Plus, if your $ conscious, you don't have to skin ALL of your DVD's - just selected ones for which you may want EXTRA protection - you know, like those LOTR EE discs, for example.

One thing that is mentioned by the manufacturer...the skins should not be used for discs in mega changers.

That's true. I might look into that. Right now I am at 470+ dvds and counting. That would be something that I could get 20 here and 20 there until I cover them all. Where can I get these at?

You can get them at Best Buy - the one near me only had the 5-packs, but you can order the 20-pack from BB online if needed. Last I looked, both the 5- and 20-packs were on backorder.

Use the site's search engine and search the entire site for "d-skin".
