I am going to chalk this up as one of the stranger post on the forum...
And considering at most places (resturaunts) - they leave that stuff out, I doubt it...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

I'm sure you have posted even stranger stuff, thanks for your opinion. Because they are left out on the table, I'm to assume it must be ok right? -
Probally so, on the bottle does it say to keep refrigerated?
Not that it is weird, its just kinda way out in left field...hehe- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I went back and looked at some of your posts. Talk about being in left field. You have a ways to go. Good luck to you.
Anybody else out there know if it is better to keep the sauce refrigerated?
Thanks. -

Some people think the sauce should be refridgerated after opening. I'm wondering about this.

Here from this link:

"Do you need to refrigerate hot sauce?
It depends. If the sauce is vinegar based with no special ingredients (so it is basically made up of vinegar, peppers and salt), then no, you do not need to refrigerate it. So your basic Tabasco and Louisiana type sauces do not need to take up room in your refrigerator, but any other styles of hot sauce should be kept refrigerated. I've found that I like to keep all my sauces refrigerated that way they maintain a consistent flavor. If you don't have room in your fridge, try getting a mini fridge, more often then not you can pick up a cheap mini fridge around a local college come summer time. Or if you have the space, get a full size fridge (if your wife will let you) and you'll be amazed at how many sauces you can fit in it. If the sauce is unopened it can remain unrefrigerated for about 6 months to a year (depending on the manufacturing date) and still maintain it's flavor. In fact, like wine, some hot sauces get better with age. Tabasco hot sauce is aged for years before being placed on the market shelves."

I figured if the restaurants can keep the Tabasco out for years at a time, why can't I.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Mmmmmm...Tabasco sauce...... -
Why not leave it out? What on Earth could possibly grow in that stuff?
-
It stays fresh longer if its kept cool. I keep mine in the fridge.
Plenty of stuff can grow in it. It gets mold and such just like ketchup.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

Ya never know. As long as there is a carbon source, something can grow on it. Bacteria have been found next to fresh lava in the ocean.

I'm thinking that anything at room temp or below will grow bacteria and maybe not harmful, might alter the taste in some way. I posted the question to get a general idea of what you people thought. I'm glad to see different opinions on the matter.

Since it's a vinegar-based sauce, it's so acidic that it's okay to leave it out.

Well,
I'm from South Louisiana (and South of New Orleans at that) and we have always left it in the cupboard and never refrigerated it, nor has it ever gone bad on us.

I always leave mine out... right beside the steak sauce, ketchup and mustard. Of course I always fridge the mayo and milky types of salad dressing. I'll have to give the chipotle kind a try.
