Well, I'm all confused now. Dad's not real into me doing all this for audio in the Jeep, and I must admit I'm beginning to question it... :(

I really don't know what I wanna do. I had just about decided that I'd just go with the Pioneer PEH-P860MP and forget the amp and speakers; worry with them sometime later. However, now that I see the MM6 speakers are only $170, I'm really thinking hard about getting them. Though, I'm not sure if I would really have time to put them in my Jeep anytime soon, and I don't want to buy something that's gonna sit around for a while. I really don't know what I wanna do. Maybe I should just get the HU and the DVD player I found for my home rig; I also found some TV Tuners for my computer I'd like....

I don't really know why I'm posting this, either.....lol

All, well; it'll work out.........I guess

    buy it... then enjoy it.

if you have second thoughts then it's clear you don't want it. sure it's alot of money but it's a hell of a better time when you are in your car.

That pioneer is a nice HU and if you're going to buy a $500 HU and nothing else whats the point other than cool screensavers buy the HU might as well get a system with it.

Why not just get the Pioneer and then get some DB coaxials and stick them in the stock locations. This way you wont spend a ton, theyll drop right in and sound 10 times better than stock.

    Tell me about it!

You would think it wouldnt takt any time at all to save up 170 bones but when you work on commission and it hits the slow season, not to mention all of a sudden needing brakes, then a rock cracks your windshield, then Christmas comes up, then your old ladies car need work!!

The month of December is pretty busy in the beer world so hopefully I can scrounge up an extra $170 before they sell out of them.

im really impressed with the DB line of speakers, but if you really want the mm6s id strongly suggest you go for it
if not then later on youll be thinking-man, i wish i wouldve waited a little longer and picked up the momos...
id strongly suggest the mm6s, but the DBs are far better than stockers

If youre wanting a simple, drop in speaker that will work well off of head unit power (yuck) then the DB is for you. I think it would probably be a waste to get the MM6 then not install them properly and feed em the scrawny 15 watts of head unit power. Would be like buying a Corvette and never driving over 35 MPH.

well, I'd still be getting the HU AND the HiFonics amp.....could the DB stuff hadle that? I really don't think I'm gonna be able to talk my way into the MM6 and I really doubt I'll have time to stuff 'em in my Jeep; so, are the db5250s a good alternative? And, like I said, could I still use the HiFonics amp? Should I?

    Thanks!

I don't know....i'm really likeing the idea of the db5250s and then the rest of the set-up I had already decided on. Will that work? Powering the db's with the HiFonics amp?

    Thanks.

that particular Hifonics amp (85x4) will likely be too much for the DB components. If youre dead set on using a Hifonics amp then for the DB5250's Id recommend this one. It is a pretty good price and puts out exactly what those components call for, 100 watts each.

I'm not sure where you got 85x4; the one I was looking at was the NX400. Is onlinecarstereo authorized? If so, that amp would be just fine; do you like it better than the NX400?

    Thanks!

My bad. I thought you were looking at the ZX6400.

The Zeus line is Hifonics high end series. If youre going to get one, Id stick with the Zeus.

The Nemesis is equivalent to Polk's DB line.

but they are not authorized, but their warranty lasts as long as the warranty from HiFonics does...

Among the requirements for price matching....
We reserve the right to limit our lowest price policy if:
The Internet retailer's shipping fees exceeds ours.
The Internet retailer's lower price requires membership fees, coupons, product-bundling purchase, or rebates.
The Internet retailer is not an authorized dealer for the item.

And, y'all said that OCS is NOT authorized...all well....
