MM,
I smiled when I read about your hesitation to buy an SVS without auditioning it. I was the same way. I went simply on the reviews I read here. I figured, these people here do not gain anything if I buy this, why would they lie....I trust them more than a sales person.
Dude, buy the thing. SVS will take it back if you dont like it. But, once you hear...rather.... FEEL what comes out of this thing...you'll be writing posts like the ones you've been reading!ADCOM GTP-830 (pre-amp)

I paid ground freight rates for shipping. My model, in the box, weighs 70 pounds. So if you choose a smaller, presumably lighter, model, it may weigh less. I don't think they give things away. There are add-ons you can purchase that they do not charge extra shipping for if you order them with the sub.
Having said that, I order online everyday. You need to understand that if you could buy this sub in a retail store the markup could, depending on your budget, raise the cost out of your price range.ADCOM GTP-830 (pre-amp)

I really like to see someone on the forum doing what they say they are going to do, after getting the advice.
All too often, great advice on superior products or values are taken for granted here at CP. Many of those that inquire are really looking to justify the lousy decision that has already been inked on a lesser product. You took the advice and are to be commended for your apparent intelligence and trusting insight.
All kidding aside, you will **** your britches and grin ear to ear after you get that sub calibrated to add just the right amount of foundation to your music and bust down the house during explosive movie scenes!
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I have it and it is installed and I like the increased realism when I watch movies. I had bought a Radio Shack sound meter to calibrate everything, but discovered that I really did not need it. My Denon Receiver has an on screen menu for the TV that I used to calibrate everything and it alll sounds great. Once again, thank all of you for your support and guidence.Home Theater Configuration:

Sorry for not replying earlier - caught up in the holiday rush etc., also our company shut down for the week after Christmas - did a lot of catching up/visiting with friends we haven't seen in awhile......
Yes, I've exchanged my 20/39 for the SVS 16/46PC+ and am enjoying the hell out of it!! I also purchased an Outlaw 770 amp from their B stock which saved me around $250 and man I can't tell you how much "closer" it brings in the action. Am seriously considering buying one more 16/46 to 'pressurize' our A/V room. That is, after we build up the bank account again.;)HT & Music System:

I do not think that my sound system could sound any better. With my Polk LSi25s each having a powered 200 watt sub gives us 400 watts of Sub in the front of my room. I put the SVS 20-39PC+ (525 watts) in the back corner of the room next to my LSi15s that are used for surround (I am now sitting almost perfectly in the middle of the subs and my all of my speakers). There is now 900 watts of Subwoofer and I feel like I am all set up. Speaking of set up, I took the sound meter back to Radio Shack, as it did not help me any further that what my Denon 5700 Receiver was able to do.
Once again, I would like to thank all of you for your help and support!
Best wishes and a Happy, Prosperous New Year!Home Theater Configuration:
