Had something very similar happen to me as a 19 year old punk and my first year of real freedom as a GI in Bamberg Germany. It didnt involve a vehical but a fair amount of hefeweizen a scout platoon and a very **** looking fraeulein. Long story short, bottles were thrown, german shepards were called in, along with the local MP patrol. Turns out the young E-5 MP knows my Platoon Sgt and gives him a call to come pick my **** up. He did, and also let me stay the night at his house passed out on the sofa. I got the speech the next morning and still live by some of the good advice he passed on to me. Something I'll not soon forget. I'm not sure if he realized the long term impact of his "good deed" and I hope the young lad you helped out will learn a thing or two from this event.
