I've been a devotee of the Turkey-in-the-Sack for a long time, but the oven went on the fritz so had to take a different approach this year.

Went with Alton Brown's Honey Brined Smoked Turkey . Have only sampled a more-than-a-little charred wing, but early returns say we have a winner.

How you doin' your bird this year?

Happy Thanksgiving everybody...
More later,

I'm all about traditional prep for the old bird. Roasted to golden brown perfection, ham, potatoes, cranberries....Pies are already done too!

My dad is smoking thier turkey and I wish I was going there but I'm not. I get over-roasted turkey this year at my in-laws.

I went hunting for a turkey this year on my property and after I bagged it, realized it was the neighbors dog.

    He tasted very good however.

ROFL...so you mean you had Mexican? :D

Mom just picked out a turkey at the store like always; however, this year she decided to brine it. It was definitley more moist; and more flavorful. And since I don't really like the taste of turkey....I didn't like it.
