Help...Bass??

Can anyone give me some acurate degrees of bass? Like how much will make a person lose hearing? How much will blow a normal car window? How much before you start causing damage to various things? Thanks alot guys...i couldnt find anything.

I think that high decibels at any frequency are bad for your hearing. I think I've lost some hearing in my right ear from 16 years of having subs in my car. I've only seen a window blow out once from bass, but I have no idea what the decibel level was.

Good Lord!! To blow a window out that had to be one hell of a sub blast with major power behind it  . I've worked on cars for 18yrs and would't have even thought it could happen.

Try this link to see a chart on how sound pressure levels can affect our hearing. SPL chart
Teaching this to 9th graders is almost useless. They don't seem to realize that it will happen at their age.
