AMR150 Power and Bass problems

I have a set of AMR150's that came with my HP Pavilion computer. I have noticed a horrible sound in the subwoofer; it sounds like a piece is loose in it, and when I turn up the bass the bass just doesn't sound right. When the bass is turned up more than a third of the way, the noise is very noticeable. Essentially, the bass sounds horrible.

Also, I am experiencing problems with the power supply from the subwoofer to the rest of the speakers. It is very finicky; sometimes it seems like too much power is being sent to the speakers and the volume control on the speakers themselves stop working, and other times, no power will be sent to the speaker even though the cord is plugged in securely.

Performance with the speakers is hit and miss it seems, and I find this very troubling considering the cost of the speakers.

Any suggestions on how I would go about fixing the problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

The reson you get spotty power adjustment is because a PC has two adjustments. One is in the volume control in windows or on keyboard, and the other is on speaks. That is why it will adjust right up to a point and then seem to do nothing.
As for the sub, it could be that it is rattling something else is there anything else around it that would be shaking. Plus, if you crank any sub up it will get distorted. If you are using something like WinAmp you can't simply crank the software amp all the way up. I have AMR 150s also, but they work perfect for me. I do get a little vibration on grinding bass, but that is mostly my cabinets I think.
