system setup..taking a brew break

Taking a break and thought I would snap some pics of my system under construction. Actually spending some quality time with cable management this time around. Monster cable everywhere with the "superflat" mini stuff feading the Polks. Not exactly sure of speaker placement but I'll mess with it some.

One question I do have (and I'm sure this has been hashed out time and again) is on short speaker cable runs should the cables be the same length even though I need only five and ten feet of cable respectively for the right and left mains....more for the surrounds of course.

And, as always, some upgrades planned for the future. My repeat "honey" (don't ask) actually encourages them. WOOWEE!! This could get ugly!

Dude, did you get Sid's old camera or what?

No. A few feet won't make much difference.

Hell, I thought that was one of my better pics! Came from my vintage Kodak digital. I hate the thing but it works...kind of.

That's a H\K 320 in the pic. I'm leaving room in the rack for a 7 channel amp..maybe try an Outlaw this time around. That's a Yammy S2300 SACD\DVD-A player just above the Harmon. Speakers are all RTxxxi's.

Gotta move the widescreen upstairs today...really not looking forward to that.

I cannot hear the even sightest difference when the speaker cables are different lengths, but and it becomes a huge BUT, you asked about it so that tells me you are thinking about it so just make them the same length and "forget about it".

Absolutely!! The porter is my favorite, then Chesterfield Ale, then Black and Tan....Hell....they are all my favorites.

And yea, I guess I will make all the cable lengths the same. Just for peace of mind if nothing else.

One other thing. I was to purchase a pair of RTi70's from a member from Jersey a while back. Transaction never happened and I'm hopin' he sees this post and contacts me....can't remember his name.
