For what it is worth, I presented the following question to the people at Polk:

Can you tell which of the following centre channel speakers would be the BEST match with my current equipment.

CURRENT EQUIPMENT:
2 - RTi100\'s
2 - RTi38\'s (Brand New as of Nov/22/04)

CHANNEL SPEAKERS:(Looking to purchase)
CSi30
CSi40
CSi3
CSi5

I am attempting to match (buy) the best channel to fit with my RTi100\'s & RTi38\'s.

THE RESPONSE:

Michael,
I would recommend purchasing the CSi40. This center channel speakers uses the exact same size drivers and tweeter that both the RTi100 and RTi38's use. This would be the best sonic match for these speakers. Option #2 would be to consider the CSi5.

I guess I'm now looking for a CSi40 in excellent condition.
Thanks everyone, it was fun & educational. Once I have all the equipment, then I need to determine how best to connect everything and what type of cable to use. Looking forward to it.

    ABC Wharehouse a home appliance store in Redford Michigan had a brand new csi 40 in an unopened box. I had them talked down to $240.00 and passed on it. I believe it is still there maybe you could call them and have it shipped. they also had an open box floor model that was kind of marked up. I didnt ask. It had a new tweeter in it. It must have been a return or repaired floor model. Here is the number. 313 937 2100. Good luck.

    I picked up a open box CSi40 from Circuit city for $200.

    Good condition, don't think it was ever hooked up just left sitting on the shelf for a while.

    We do not have Circuit City or other electronic store in the North. For $200, that would be great. Are there any more and where are you located?
