Just hopin' someone has some info on the OEM six disc CD changer that came with the 1997 Mercury Mountaineer. Specifically, I need the magazine for the changer. If I could get some info (make, model), that would be cool...wouldn't have to worry about my lazy arse ripping the thing out of the center console to find out.
Thought I would give this a try here first.

call your friendly ford dealer... normally you'll have to go through them to get OEM stereo equipMacLeod: I guess youre lucky Polk has such lax hiring standards.

Mr. Ford parts man wants $75 just for the magazine. OUCH. I found a Clarion magazine on a website that is advertised to fit for $24 but I'm not so sure. Hence my efforts here to find additional info on the changer.suds, suds and more suds!

The Clarion one should work. The OEM mags are Clarion with a Ford part number on it.

Recieved the Clarion model #CAA-122 which I ordered from DISCOUNT CAR STEREO. This is the mag for the older model changers. Newer changers require the other mag. Older changers have the orange eject button, newer ones have the gray eject button. Anyway, thing works great and thanks to all for the help. And also DISCOUNT CAR STEREO. Great site for finding OEM electronics for most vehicles.suds, suds and more suds!
