sealed enclosure question

All right guys, as you may well know, the mid range on the rti12s are supposed to be a sealed enclosure. The upper portion of the speaker. When you gently press one mid range the other mid range is supposed to go outward because of the sealed enclosure. Well, should i be concerned if my other tower doesn't do that? I am concerned that it will affect performance.

Yes in a sealed enclosure when you press in one of the drivers the other should move out. Pull the drivers and take a look.

what exactly will i be looking for. How would I know if it is properly sealed. I would rather see if polk customer serv. could do anything. These speakers are a few months old.

Maybe a driver is missing a gasket or maybe there is no glue where the driver leads enter the chamber etc. Give Ken a shout and he can help you.

i pulled both drivers and the leads have silicone and there is a thin layer of gasket around both drivers. It seems that it is a structure problem internally. If i was to send this tower to polk, do you think they will replace it for me. The towers are less than a year old.

Since the problem is nothing obvious contact Ken the man and he will straighten things out.

The tweeter and mids have a separate enclosure with the cabinet, sealing them off from the rest.
