Another Toshiba SD-3960 question...

I will be moving my Panasonic RP-62 to my new TV so I need a replacement DVD player. I know the thoughts on the SQ of the Toshiba SD-3960 because I've read all of the posts....What about Picture Quality? Also, has anyone used it to view picture CDs?

    Gotta tell ya Shack, I tried mine in place of my 3yr old Panasonic $129 jobbie and the Panny won hands down, PQ wise. I think the Toshiba I have is the 3950, though.

    Thanks Steve, I'm pretty sure my Panny will best the Toshiba. The new one will be hooked to a fairly new 27" non-HD set we have in the living room. The only real test of the video quality I've seen for the Toshiba was HERE. The Sony DVP NS575 is another I'm considering.

    I was quite happy with mine for video. I used my pioneer 50" hd plasma with component video and thought it was great. That was with an unmodified unit. I've heard it gets better after the power supply mods but haven't tried one with the plasma yet.
