Question about PSW450 controls

I currently have my sub hooked up by running the speaker wires from my receiver to the "in" on the sub and then "out" to my two main speakers. By using this setup, I have an extra option where I can choose to send either the full range to the main speakers or only 80Hz and above. This is accomplished by a little switch near the speaker wires. This is fine and I understand this. What I want to know now, is what do I do with the crossover knob? Do I have to move it to any specific setting? It would seem to me that this knob becomes useless if you wire it up with the line level inputs (speaker wire).

Any thoughts?

I've read that article a few times before but it unfortunately doesn't mention specifics aimed at the 450. I thought someone with another 450 would be able to answer this question for me. :)

I don't have a 450 but let me take a stab at this......

theoretically, IMO, If you are running the speakers through the sub, set the sub to off, fronts large. The full range is now going to the sub and this is where the adjustable crossover comes in....set the dial to where it sounds good to you. If there is a switch that automatically sets it at 80hz and you like it swell, no worries...

What ever works for you, go for it my brotha...
