Does this mean you'll be asking someone to drive to Wisconsin for you?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Bob McGowan has one of those and if I remember correctly, it's nothing to write home about. He has it mainly as a collectors item, not for operational use in any of his systems.

It's a Mon 11 / RTA 12 sans tweeter, with an 80Hz low-pass. I want to say it has a second set of posts for a 60Hz low pass.

    Cheers,
    Russ

ED Z'er??? Yup, the pedestal and closeness of the MW's to the top of the cabinet should have been noted here...

Russ, is the Mon 11 just an RTA 12 with the tweeter moved into the cabinet?

... if I went down da basement (as they like to say in Baltimore).

I have an LF14 in lovely "Rosewood" vinyl that I bought new from Soundscape in... when? ... 1979? Thought it'd beef up the low end of my 7A's. Well, in a small room it did help, but it became superfluous by the time I had the 7A's in a decent-sized room.

It is just an Monitor 12 bottom as far as I can tell, with an odd XO that permits one to use a single LF14 (one channel feeds each 6-1/2" driver) or a pair. The speakers came with a jumper and have a "high-low" sensitivity switch (which I also think changes the XO point).

I have the manual if scans would be of benefit to anyone.

The PR has a big ol' hunk of foam (or is it crepe rubber) on it, like the 12. I am guessing the lifetime of that is finite...

    Sweet...

I'd like to see the scanned manual. If you can pdf the scans easy post as an attachment, if not, one page at a time is fine...

Or if you want to e-mail them to tour2ma@earthlink.net , fire away...

I'll work on scanning it tonight... it's only a few pages; hope I can actually FIND it :-)

Will post or e-mail as logistics permit.

Hoping to spend a hi-fi night tonight, as my wife has a meeting at church (she's financial sec'y there) tonight.

What I meant was: my wife's meeting, besides giving me an excuse to play hi-fi repairman in the basement, will also enhance the accessibility of the 'big' computer (and hence the scanner)... so as long as I remember to FIND the manual, it should be easy to get it scanned tonight!

    cheers!

Sorry we couldn't hook up on your recent southbound trip. I saw your post too late, and was previously engaged anyway. Maybe next time?

Not a problem... it was more my way of saying "hmm... those Klipsches would just barely fit in my Focus ZX3, and, heck, I am going right by." :-)

I think if I brought another pair of Klipsches home, my wife's patient understanding of my hobby might just reach its limit!

I'm down that way a fair amount, and I often drive 'cause flying from the Boston area (even Manchester) is just enough of a hassle to only be worth it for a very short trip... I've been doing MD to New England for well over 20 years (since my in-laws lived in NH when we were still in MD).

BTW, still have the way cool holiday card showing a KC-135 over the world... cool design... better than reindeer and snow-covered dachshunds or whatever Hallmark's gonna push this year.

I thought I got the last one you had, last Christmas?

    Autographed and everything.

    Cheers,

Maybe you'd like a nice set of scans of an LF14 manual?
