Boy it seems that there are a lot of us waiting for Brandnamez to deliver. I purchased the 800is from them and also the PSW450 but am still waiting for the F/X500i's as well as the CS400i center. Has anyone else had trouble getting in touch with Brandnamez? No one answers the phone and emails rarely get returned. I have considered paying a little more just to insure that I get my hands on what I want but I figure about the time I do I will end up with both orders! Yet I hope they don't become copletely unavailabel while I am waiting.

FWIW: I ordered a pair of RT35i's from Brandnamez.com and really enjoyed how seemingly simple the process was (not unlike most online purchases are, a few clicks and you're in dept). So, everything is going fine and I'm giving them a few days to process my order before I turn into Mr. Man and show them my world of consumer hyper vigilance. Naturally, after a week or so of using their automated system to see if my order had been shipped ... nothing had happened; I realized there was some sort of a problem. I emailed them and was told that they were out of stock, -- they were nice enough to inform me that the RT25i's WERE in stock and could be shipped out immediately -- but were expecting a shipment of RT35i's to arrive from Polk within roughly a week's time. I felt much like yourself, in that by this point I'd already invested enough time to feel as though I might as well wait it out. Well, my shipment finally arrived about 3 weeks from the date of initial order; I'm listening to them right now as a matter of fact, and golly these little dumplings really sing my type of tune.

I never tried to call Brandnamez, but my attempts to establish email contact were successful; I found that the polite but forceful approach made replying to me seem more attractive to them. I really hope that shipment arrives so that you can enjoy your completed system, it's going to sound splendid.

I ordered a cs245i from Brandnamez on 2-8. on 2-13 they sent an e-mail saying they had oversold their stock and would be getting a new shipment this week. (That made me nervous because if they are like many net electronic retailers they may be drop shipping from somewhere else and may not be able to get one). It was a good price at $151.00 delivered. When I had not heard anything by yesterday 2-19 I sent them an e-mail cancelling the order. They responded quickly by e-mail telling me the order had been cancelled and no charges had been placed on my credit card. I called Crutchfield and ordered the cs245i last night at a price of $149.95 delivered. It was shipped this morning and will be deliverd by Friday. They also have the cs400i for $299.95. They have the 35is for $299.95/pr and the 55is for 399.95/pr. If any one is interested in ordering anything from Crutchfield I have a code which will save you $25 off a $250.00 order for a new customer so just e-mail me. I had a free shipping offer so that saved me a few bucks but the service is GREAT! When I ordered my 15is and my 55is form them they told me immediately that the 55s were out of stock but gave me a date when they would be in. They shipped the 15s immediately and sent the 55s by Fed Ex at no charge to me on the day they said. I'm not blasting Brandnamez because I know how internet buying works. It would be better if they tell you at he time of your order the status of their inventory. But it worked to my advantage because if I had known earlier I might have ended up spending more for the speaker.

Does Polk sell to unauthorized dealers

Probably not. The unauthorized dealers most likely buy from an authorized wholesaler or retailer. My guess is that authorized buyers are able to get price breaks when they buy quantity and may sell overstock to other retailers. Brandnamez is not authorized but Crutchfield is.

I gave up on Brandnamez. I ordered the CS400i for $269.00 a few months ago and had no problems. I ordered the f/x500i speakers on the sixth of Febuary. I received two e-mails from them saying that they would be coming in the following week but if I wanted the f/x300i speakers that they were available at a special price for imediate delivery. I tried to call them for two days with no sucsess and no returned call. I checked my credit card account and noticed that the pre charge authorization for Brandnamez was no longer there. I ordered the f/x500i speakers from Crutchfield on Sunday and they arrived yesterday! Great service. If you are a first ime buyer you can get a $25.00 credit on your first purchase and the person who refers you gets a $25.00 credit!
