They have deep bass at very low distortion levels, two gives you great "overhead".
I've got to get back to drinkin' for now, but I will provide some data later.

Hmmm...why not the PB12 ISD2?
Just curious really.
EDIT: Would love to hear how they stack up to those PSW505s.
Thanks! -
I am probally the only one that finds it funny that the PB10 is bigger than the PSW505
CONGRATS dude on the purchase, we demand a review! LoL- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
No kidding man. I thought the PB10 was lil' tike SVS was making!

Well it IS little...compared to the other SVS subs- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Congrats, can't wait to read your for your impression of the PB10.

It won't surprise me if the dual 505s pump out more sheer SPL above 35 Hz, just due to the 12" drivers. Below 35 Hz, the tide will turn in favor of the dual PB10's and below 25 Hz it won't even be fair.
This will be an interesting match-up; your impressions will be valuable."What we do in life echoes in eternity"

Doc, you're too wise, this was exactly my first impression. Here's a snippet of an email I sent Ron S. last night:
I haven't had much time to play yet, but the low end seems to be more deep and "clean" than the Polk stack I've got. There's a scene in Matrix Reloaded towards the very beginning where they land the ship (after Neo's nightmare about Trinity's falling shootout) that I use for a "benchmark".
The Polks do seem to be "louder" maybe more sensitive, but like I said, I haven't really calibrated yet. Maybe I'm used loud distorted bass. "
One funny thing about the SVS grills is that they are reactive to blacklight. They look slightly purple, which is great for me since my theater room is purple. (I have a couple recessed blacklights for ambient lighting)
Once I get things calibrated (and shake off this hangover), I'll give you guys some more detailed impressions/data etc. I've got TrueRTA Level 4, but the only microphone I have is a Rat Shack meter. Doc, if you have suggestions for settings in TrueRTA, I'm all ears.

I dont understand....
The PSW505 woofer has a 2 inch surround....
Why can't it hit strong below 30hz? I mean is it the lack of enclosure with the medium size amp, or is it both? lack of enclosure and amp...
I don't get it...it makes no sense as to why that subwoofer can't hit lower- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

Easy - it's not designed to.
It's a combination of T/S parameters, enclosure volume, and vent length. F3 is 28 Hz (and I'm not sure that's anechoic or at what volume).
Polk has to balance performance with enclosure size and weight; the bean counters get their pound of flesh too, Sid."What we do in life echoes in eternity"
