Busy with History

For those interested in history you can get a look at the hobby that has been keeping me busy (very busy!) for the last couple of years.
Background: With French Canadian Indian (Abenaki) ancestors and having a life long love of eighteenth century history, I joined a reenactment group called the Eastern Woodland Alliance (E.W.A.). We reenact French & Indian War and Revolutionary War battles and events. I was involved in nineteen events including three filmings this year since May. The season has wound down for a while although I'll busy the next three weekends with meetings and a H.C. Premier to attend.
Which brings me to... On Friday Nov. 26th at 8:00pm EST the History Channel will be showing a piece called "Buried Secrets of the Revolutionary War" as part of their "Investigating History" series. It is about the death of Jane McCrea in Fort Edward (NY) on July 27, 1777. Some of the members of the E.W.A. were chosen to be the natives involved in the raid. You will find me protraying the Indian who takes Jane captive from her hiding place in the basement of her house (and other shots). Her friend Sara McNeil is taken by my good friend Keith. I hope it turns out good and we can all enjoy it.
Here's a shot of me used during the filming so you'll know my charactor. Everything about me in the photo is PC, (period correct) it has to be. It's our lifestyle and job.

For what it's worth, and for those that don't know, Bob Tall Feather here predates every SOB on this forum, including moi, and I got here in Sep 99. Maybe, MAYBE, John Strong and Madmax give him a run for the money.
You'd never know it to look at him now, but Bob and his brother Fireball Mike are Polk Audio Forum founding fathers.
You want to talk SDA with an SDA expert, here's your chance.

Bob,
Good to see you man!!!!!!!!
Definately have the VCR set to record that.
What George said, when it comes to audio in general and SDA in particular: Bob is the MAN.
Best to you and Mike!

Hi guys,
Thanks for the kind words and thoughts.
Sorry I'm not around much anymore these days but I'll be popping in once in a while. It looks like a lot of the gang is still around along with plenty of good, new folks. Hunting and getting ready for a long cold winter now as a lot of you are. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to find more time for audio this winter.
There are a few winter battles I could get involved with but it will mean making a batch of PC cold weather gear. I got started but never finished over the last two winters but who knows??? -
Bob - A real good friend of mine makes all kinds of period correct gear, including edged weapons if you are interested I can put you in touch with him. He's a big organizer of "Rendezvous" events out in Wyoming and surrounding areas.
I think you are blushing in that picture. Have fun.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -

Well look who popped his head in to say hey!
Bob, great to see you posting again. I always wonder where you ran off to. Those SDA discussions from yester-year were stuff of legend!
I really wish I could be home tomorrow night to catch the show, but I have to work. I'll check the History Channel website to see what I can see in terms of that shows schedule and repeats.
Bet you're having a blast with all the reenactments. Hmmm...I wonder how that pic of you would look with an SDA photoshopped in.
Great job though. Congrats on landing a History Channel spot. Has to feel like a huge prize for all the years of hard work put in. Do you think it will land on DVD at any point? Everything else is. I want my copy. And make sure they put a DTS soundtrack on it too! I want to FEEL the thump of a musket firing.
Congrats again,
JohnNo excuses! -
Tomorrow night is the night to catch Brother Bob on The History Channel! 20:00 hrs (8 PM EST).
He's going to do a carjacking kind of thing, but before they invented cars. Always the innovator.
