Can anyone comment on how good/bad these speakers are? Does anyone know where I can find the "complete" package set of these?
Thanks!
Thanks!

this is about as good as it gets in the HT audio world.
At least around here.
Awesome, powerfully clean sounding,
huge heavy and imposing.
elite, rare, expensive
good luck, there are a couple of these speaker sets on ebay right now.
ONe in England one in Arizona

... on the flea market, but I don't know where the hell it went.
I do recall some hesitation or skepticism as to the sellers credibility due to the fact he has changed ebay ID's three times in six months,
but I don't know what was finally decided about it.
Maybe someone else knows where the thread went.
Here' the link to his auction.

The other SRT system was in England,
I don't even want to know what it would cost to ship it over here, lol
They do appear on ebay sporadically and we always post links to the auctions here in the flea market.
One member here bought a SRT system on ebay in great condition, for $2799, if I recall correctly.

Mr. P,
Don't think you'd want to pay the freight tab from England, and the Arizona set (minus surrounds) are being sold by a person who was posting here under two different screen names. One as the Seller, and a second as a fellow who just purchased other audio items, saw the SRT set, etc., etc.
His obvious purpose was to build interest in his auction, and confidence in him as a seller, something his ebay feedback would not do. It had just the opposite effect...
The thread detereorated to where the moderator had to scrap it...
Relax, sit back and enjoy your 2.3tl's... other SRT's will come along... someday...More later,

If you happen to come across the speakers I am looking for...please let me know.
Thanks!Mr.Pete---> -
I found a pair of srt speakers, on e-bay, from someone that lives in Arizona. He wants $4000 for them including shipping. His id # for them is 5730898200. I am seriously thinking about purchasing them. If I do..I would only buy them C.O.D. so that I get them.
I assume Polk has all the replacement parts for them...if needed.
Any comments on a pair of Lsi 15's??
Again...thanks for your time.

$4000 Is a high price to pay for a set with no surrounds. The last 2 sets that I picked up were under 3k. Also Shipping is NOT a good idea for speakers of this size and weight. I picked both sets up in person and I caused minor damage! If this is the same guy who has one of only 250 made I would not put too much stock in his knowledge of the SRTs. If I am right they are numbered on the serial number I have #365 and #368. And if you look close at his Serial number photo #465 not that that matters. The SRTs are great speakers I have no regrets at all owing 2 sets. My advice is to wait for something some what local go see them listen to them. If you love them bring them home gently!:)

I appreciate your imput. If you know of someone that is selling a pair...please let me know. I assume that they sound much better than my SDA's?? After getting my two speakers replaced in mine...They sound very good. In your opinion...is there a "big" difference between the sda's and the srt's? The surround sound?
One other question....could I run a pair of LSi 15's for rear speakers with my SDA's? I have an old Onkyo Grand Integra 508 Amp and Preamp. The amp, from what I know, puts out an honest 100 watts of power.
Again...thanks for you time.

I have no experience with any SDA other then the SRT. I do not know If they sound any "better". I would guess they are very different and it would be a matter of taste. I do know the subs on the SRT are very powerful so I would assume there is a huge difference in bass. I find the SRTs to be amazing speakers, the SDA plays a big part in this. Good luck.

IMO and from the limited time I've had listening to SRT's, I'd have to say the SRT's are better suited to HT which is what they were designed for. From a long time exposure to SDA's I'd say they are 2 channel kings that reproduce music as it was meant to be heard, but it's also reported that they do HT rather well.
There is a forum member that uses LSi 15's as rear speakers with SDA fronts and reports good results. The long time recommendation is at least 200 wpc of high current power to wake up the SDA's. Your Onyko will drive them , but not to their full potential.Political Correctness'.........defined

What would you recommend for an amp that the mortal human being can afford to buy??
What do you think about a pair of Lsi 25's...with a powered sub for rear channel speakers with my SDA"s? Would it help get my room...24X22 with a catheral ceiling...a very poor acoustic room for good stereo?
Again...thanks for youMr.Pete---> -
LOL.....what's your price range?
HT guru I'm not, I've got no idea how that would sound.Political Correctness'.........defined

In the audio world, serial numbers often do not start at one and go up...though I'm sure someone at Polk knows the start and end serial numbers for the SRTs.

Hi,
I use SDA-1C's for mains in a 7.1 home theater configuration, and I'm very happy with their performance. Click on the link in my signature for a full description. I'm using the LC265i's In-Wall speakers for my surround back channel and f/x500i's supplemented by Bob Carver designed subwoofers for my side surround channels.
The prevailing wisdom is that the LSi series is the best match for SDA type speakers. (My In-Wall speakers use the same drivers as the LSi series.)
Refer to this thread:
Help Matching Surround Back speakers to SDA-1Cs in Home Theater
100 watts per channel is really not adequate for SDA speakers, especially for your large room.
