ok, while demoing some DVD's tonite with my new HSU vtf-2, i got around to gladiator, switched it the DTS and i had audio-dropouts all over the place. consitently, about every other second. switched to DD, no problem. grabbed another DTS disc, same damn thing, all of them!!!
ok, so i have a DVD player with built in DD and DTS, and also a reciever with both built in. i am trying to determine wether it is my DVD player or rec.'s DTS decoder that has **** the bed. i tried to disable the DTS decoder in the DVD player, but then no audio reaches my rec. at all. so i am trying to figure out the best way to determine which component needs to get repaired. i am thinking the easiest way is to bring home a DVD player from CC tommorow and see what happens... any body have any thoughts on this???

Hi Juice:
There should be something in your setup for the DVD that will allow you to send the signal out to the receiver outside the built in DD and DTS.

ok, i just turned turned DTS signal to 'off' in DVD set-up and turned the PCM on. tried a DTS DVD, no signal at all. switch the DTS signal back to 'bitstream' and PCM to 'off', and what do you know, my DTS is playing flawlessly again tried 2 discs that weren't working before, both worked fine, now i am really confused? the only thing i can think, is my DVD player started acting up before when the optical pick-up was about to go out, doing randow chapter skips and not performing the correct functions, ie. hit stop on remote, it would FF, hit play, and it would go to menu. never had audio dro-outs though when that happened before, don't know what would have caused it's momentary lapse in DTS decoding??? oh well, hopefully it will remain working....
