Anyone installed it yet?

I did it, and I like it! it looks cleaner and uncluttered, compared to IE. The Tab feature is awesome! and install footprint program is small.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I've had it for a coupla months but really don't use it much. I've found certain functions don't work using that browser, like transactions or bill paying stuff we do all the time. Like you click on the 'Submit' or 'Continue' tab and nothing happens. After entering several pages of info and then it can't comprehend the most important tab  But if you don't do stuff like that it's great. As much as I disdain Microsoft though and all of the security problems with their software....for some reason I still prefer regular ole IE :(

    Release 1.0 is out now.
I've been using mozilla and now firefox.
Works fine with secure sites like Wells Fargo, PayPal, etc

Just like GAIM, it has tabs. 1 tab bar to rule them all....makes browsing so much better.

I hsve been using it for several months as well. Love the built-in popup blocker. It opens what I want and doesn't open what I don't want. I also like the shortcut keys. Like if you type 'Polk' it will go to a link with Polk in it, so you don't have to mess with the mouse if you don't want to.

I've used it and I like it. It's like Mozilla Lite. Very easy to use and faster tha Internet Exploder.

Been using it for a few months now. One thing I noticed is firefox seems a little slower opening/displaying images on webpages. Other than that I like its security and overall performance and features. We use it for banking, etc with no compatability problems.

If Firefox would load pictures as fast as IE, it would be perfect and I wouldn't bother with IE anymore. Currently I would say my browser usage ratio is around 60 IE/40 FF.

Been using Firefox for quite a while now. I like it better then IE in general, although I do occationally have issues with sites, but normally I can overcome them. If not, I do still have IE that I can load up if needed.

I've used it since the 0.5 release or so, at least a year. Maybe once a month I run into a website that requires internet explorer, but for the most part I love Firefox. Never see popups, and if you are savvy enough to install extensions, you don't even have to see any ads on web pages at all. Tabbed browsing is so clean, too.

Add to all that the fact that you can feel safe in the fact that your browser isn't installing software on yoru computer without your knowing, and I can't see much of a reason not to switch. IE is always still there if you need it (which you do, for WindowsUpdate at the very least).
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Ive been on it for a month or so now and love it for the simple fact that I havent had a single pop up since Ive been using it.

IE had pop ups every 20 seconds or so and that was with me running 2 different pop up blockers. Ive got both of them off now and Firefox blocks 100% of them.

Im sure its only a matter of time before these asshats figure out we're all using Firefox and start inundating it with pop ups.

If I were kind of the world, it would be leagal to shoot someone in the head if you could prove they were responsible for adware!

Here's an article about Firefox from the Chicago Tribune . You have to register with the site in order to read the article, so I'll also copy it below.

From the online edition of the Chicago Tribune:

    FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2004

    updated at 8:44 a..m.

41 SIMPLE STEPS TO IMPROVING YOUR LIFE

You will thank me for this.

Today, this blog offers to introduce you, free, to the wonders of "tabbed browsing."

In a normal Internet browser -- such as Internet Explorer, which the vast majority of Web surfers use -- you have to open each site separately, and switching between open browser windows usually requires two moves of the mouse and two clicks.

A browser equipped with the tab feature allows you to open a cluster of sites all with one click -- for example, you could open the front pages of the Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post and New York Times all at once-- and to toggle between them with one click on the file-folder-like tabs at the top of the screen.

It dramatically changes the way you use the Web.

And the tabbed browser that many computer users are very big on right now is the recently released Firefox 1.0 from Mozilla (descendant of Netscape):

"I suggest dumping Microsoft's Internet Explorer Web browser, which has a history of security breaches. I recommend instead Mozilla Firefox," wrote Wall Street Journal computer columnist Walter Mossberg in September.

"It's not only more secure but also more modern and advanced, with tabbed browsing, which allows multiple pages to be open on one screen, and a better pop-up ad blocker than the belated one Microsoft recently added to IE."

Firefox easily imports all your favorite links, stored passwords and other goodies from IE and so far I haven't found any Web sites that have trouble with Firefox (though anecdotes I've read online indicate that there are, so you shouldn't delete IE just yet).

Along with a limited offering of snarky tidbits today, I've written a special guide, "41 easy-to-follow clicks that will take you to tabbed browsing heaven," that you should go print out and use right now.
"I got into the music business thinking it was really radical, that it wasn't really a business at all, that it was a lot of people being artistic and creative. Not true, and it made me very depressed."

I've been using for about 5 months and tell everyone to try it. I also use Thunderbird instead of Outlook for my emails. We use the Mozilla package at work on our Linux workstations.

I installed it just to help them build their download numbers. Anything that encourages choice and variety is a positive in my opinion. I even bought a couple of T-shirts and sent them to my kids because I liked the graphic.

I did bump into a problem downloading some software for my Treo from Verizon. It wouldn't work with FireFox but worked perfectly with IE. Verizon's technical support guy had some ideas as to why this should be the case but I confess that I did not understand the explanation.

You might want to look up some software called Multizilla. I do not know if they support the Firefox browser yet but it they don't, it's a matter of time before they do. What this software does is it allows you to install it with a browser, like Mozilla, that some websites do not support because of retarded Microsoft proprietary stuff. It allows you to then select from a list different browsers to spoof and trick the website you are dealing with into thinking that you are running the website's desired browser.

Comes in handy, especially at work where they "require" us to use Internet Exploder.

Fox has security issues at its core (XPCOM) that make it far more susceptible to attack than IE. Everybody says IE sucks, and it has security issues. Blah. They just don't know any better. You watch, with fox becoming more prevalent, it will begin to be targeted, and when that happens, bar the doors. That's the way it works, popularity breeds scrutiny.

Fox's security features (excusing pop-up blocking) are right where IE's were a few years back. Who could expect any different? It's not like they have the financial backing and R&D budget M$ has.

    There is no safe haven.
