Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

    ... and sounded even better.

Lee's 8 wpc amp in pic 26 + John's pre in pic 18 + Fred's FR, birch pipes (posing with Fred in pic 04) was a stellar combination...

My first meet, and I felt very welcome and at home. A great group that was more than willing to reel their discussion down to earth so that even a tube novice like my self could relate.

I'll be attending more of these in the future...

    Tour,

How did WW's Shanling CDP sound in person?
Read tons about it in other forums but ,What'd you think?

    Dave,
So hard to tell given all the other "new-to-my-ear" gear in Luther's Shanling set up. That plus I mostly camped out in the back room. In the back room folks were pretty disciplined about changing out one component at a time, so you really could hear differences.

Until we hit the combination I raved about in my earlier post, I really wouldn't have sought to buy/ build any of the gear in the back room short of Luther's EV's. But that combo was a worthy one... and one of the most dramatic instances of system synergy I have heard.
