DB675 and amp for them

A quick intro...I bought a new car 2 months ago...99 Saturn SC1...I have a multiple amp wiring kit that I'm going to install in the next couple days...I will be running a Kenwood KAC-728S to the speakers for now. I have a JL 10W0 (recommended 125 watts, but can handle more) that I will be running off of a cheap Lightning Audio B250.1 (puts out 150 @ 4). In the future I will be upgrading to a pair of IDQ10's and a Memphis amp.
I just bought a pair of DB675's and I don't have money right now for a decent amp for the speakers. But that's where the Kenwood comes into play. It is 100 x 2 @ 4 Ohms which is a bit more than the speakers are rated at (I think they are rated for only 60 watts).
My questions are as follows:
What would be a good amp to get for them when I have the money to do so?
How do I wire them up (I'm used to doing subs and I know how to wire amps and subs, but for the speaker wire from the amp to the speakers, how do i do it? is it supposed to be kept away from the power wire [like you do with the RCA's on other side of power cable] to keep the interference down or does it matter? any tips would be helpful).
Lastly, how do I keep from blowing the speakers with too much power...will turning the gain down on the Kenwood amp do it or would your recommend I don't use an amp for right now until i get one that is either 60 or 75 watts @ 4 Ohms per channel?
Thanks for your time.
Michael
BTW...I'm running these speakers in my front soundstage...I am somewhat of an audiophile, but not enough that I need components right now...maybe in the future I will get some and throw these speakers in the back or something...who knows.
Thanks again.

Wrong forum. Try re-posting in the car audio forums.

I'm sorry, it's my first post. But, I should say that my main question is this:
HOW DO I GO ABOUT WIRING THE AMP TO THE SPEAKERS? I MEAN DO I JUST PUT THE WIRING ALONG WHERE I RUN THE AMP POWER AND RCA'S AND THEN INTO THE DOORS AND SPEAKERS OR IS THERE SOME OTHER WAY? I WAS HOPING TO FIND A DIAGRAM OR SOMETHING.
But since you're just going to tell me wrong place and not tell me the info i'm looking for as well then I say thanks alot...real helpful.
Could've started out with that part, then went about answering the questions and telling me to repost if I would like answers from more people. I'm sure as hell glad that people on www.saturnfans.com, www.xtremesaturn.com, and other forums aren't as rude.99 Saturn SC1

Well you could have given your response a bit more thought. This is the Home Audio Forum, not the Car Audio Forum. I'm not a car audio type. Yes my reply was helpfull, you just need to pull your head out and post your question where other car audio types will see it and answer your question.

As I recall the title of the section is as follows:

I wasn't aware that it had anything to do with either home or car audio only. It doesn't state that anywhere

You don't know me, yet you feel justified in ragging on me because I didn't answer your question, then you have the balls to to call ME an ****!?!.....Well Eff you, the horse you rode in on, and the Asshat that sent ya!
There's nothing for you here. -
99 etc., etc.,
Often newbies with a car audio question post up here and get the same response as you did from Frank. Most simply repost in the car section without the attitude...
Some do get a measure of help, if their post is seen by a home audio guy with interest in "mobile sound"... yours wasn't, that's all...
To answer your question... yes, wires are very helpful in getting the signal from the amp to the speakers.
BTW... Frank is one of the nice guys up here in the home audio section...More later,
Tour...

ahhhh...wires. interesting concept. -
Thanks...i took his advice and did just that in the car audio. I just thought I'd get my rebutle in and by now I thought this thread would have been dead.
Wow...wires...what a smartass.
Well ok, how about if I ask a question about my B&W DM 602 S2's, and wiring them. Can you explain why they use 2 sets of positive negative posts on the back and the benefit of using a seperate amp for those compared to just using the metal plates that came with them?
OH WAIT...THIS IS WHERE YOU WOULD TELL ME TO POST A NEW THREAD FOR A NEW QUESTION.

OK, well, hmmmmm
It's always good to see somebody asking for help then handing out the insults. Too bad people can't see emotion in posts. Mr. Z wasn't being rude. "To the point" maybe, not rude though. At least, not until you started in.
Anyway. Guys, forgive me for helping the short fused noob.......
For amps? Whatever suits you. Vague? Sure. But there are many options. I use JL / series. MTX, Alpine, Kicker, etc. All are good products. Pick one that suits your budget and power requirements. An Alpine MRV-F340 would be a great choice. 65x4, room to upgrade.
FYI though, Kenwood is not very well respected. 100watts? Sure, going down hill with a 50 mph tail wind, wide open, while being struck by lightning. I'm sure you'll be safe.
To wire in your new speakers, the easiest way would be to use the factory wiring. Install your new speakers as if you were to run them from the head-unit. Then run speaker wire from your amp to the speaker wires that would normally connect to the head-unit to drive the speakers. Crossing power wires is no problem, you just don't want to run them together side by side.
I highly doubt you'll blow those speakers from too much power. You'll blow them from that amp's dirty power first. When they start to sound bad, turn the volume down. That's about all you can do until you get a better amp.
B&W DM 602 Run a search up top for bi-wiring and/or bi-amping. That question's been answered many times over. You'll find lots of info. And btw, it's perfectly OK to hijack your own thread, just not somebody else's.
See, was that hard?? PLAY NICE!! There are a lot of good, knowlegable people here. It's great place. Grab a beer, kick back, and chill the f%#k out.Go BIG or go home! -
Thank you for your info. I won't bother any of you again unless I have more questions with home theater and whatnot...so it's called bi-wiring or bi-amping? All right. I'll run a search.
Thanks again.
BTW...I noticed there sure are a lot of you from Texas.99 Saturn SC1
