NONE-IMO Polk's subs arn't good. They don't hit the lower part of the sub or last octave. A good sub will go below 20Hz NO Polksub dose this. Again this is my opinion of the specs given. The 650 has a lower limit of 26Hz Velodynes and many others whichare in the same price range do. Check out the CHT line of Velodynes, it used to be the CT line. Many other subs out there ofer better proformance for the same money, check some of the other threads not many members own Polk subs.

if you want to go polk, i would suggest the 450 or 650, as chris stated though, i feel there are alot of subs out there that out-perform the polks for the money. velodyne does make a good sub. i have an HSU vtf-2 arriving tommorow, i will be posting my thoughts on this sub once i get it set up...

I'll admit I didn't interview alot of candidates when shopping for a sub.
I had polk everything else so....
The 450 is a decent sub. At $450. there may be better.
Last price I saw on them at GG was $299. At that price I'd say it's a good deal.
    Performance wise I've been happy.

i don't want to come off as putting anyones' sub down. polk makes a good sub, i just think IMO there are better out there for the money. the deals that can be found out there right now on the polk products are making polk purchases even better than before! luc, enjoy your 450! i haven't even heard my HSU yet, just going off the reivews, so i am hoping it will live up to what i am expecting...

Luc-I'm not putting anyones system down. That is why I kept saying (IMO) in my opinion. Some are very happy with Polk subs some aren't to each his own. I personally like velodyne, my ULD-18 is not muddy and can really hit hard with an explosion or something. IMO the HGSs aren't so hot either. Maybe its time for bass shakers, who knows. This double filtering is getting me.

I've tried going from the anolog outs on the DVD right to the sub anyone know if you still get the .1 channel this way??

    Chris-

I take everything said here with a grain of salt.
Maybe that's why the beer tastes better.
I try and keep it light.
Opinions are like noses, everyone has one.

I'm a great fan of Polk Audio speakers and love them but when it comes to subwoofer only one brand comes in my mind that is
VELODYNE. The world's best subwoofer manufacturing company.

After fews of next year hopefully I'll be the Velodyne CHT 15" which has 750 watts of dynamic power and it has 300 RMS goes below 20hz. I've read greats about this subwoofer. It produces transparent bass which so clean that you can only feel it. If you want to visit the best website for review visit www.audioreview.com

If you want to buy Polk Audio buy PSW450 12" sub.
    Panasonic TH-50PX80U Plasma HDTV
    Polk Audio RT800i (fronts)
    Polk Audio CS400i (center)
    Polk Audio F/X1000 (side surrounds)
    Polk Audio RTi6 (back surrrounds)
    Velodyne CHT-15 (subwoofer)
    Yamaha RX-V1400 (Pre/Pro)
    NAD C272 (2-ch Amp)
    Adcom GFA-7605 (5-ch Amp)
    Toshiba SD-3109 (DVD/CD player)
    Malata DVP-580 (Multi-region DVD player)
