Sorry, just a bad golf joke.

I've never heard of Pinnacle speakers myself.

I had (still have in spare bedroom) a pair of Pinnacle Classic Gold Towers. They're not currently connected to anything. I ran them for about a year and a half. Nice speakers and a great family owned business out of up state New York. The CGT's have 2ea 8" woofers and a 1" gold dome tweeter, and are "tri-ported" in the rear with a porting system patented by Pinnacle. It features 3, 3" diameter (approx) tubes that run at an angle into the cabinet. Bass is VERY good, and the CGT specs out at 27Hz, +/-3dB if I remember correctly. Treble is very nice albeit a touch grainy compared to my Athena's. They are also very efficient at some 93/94dB @ 1watt. Construction is fairly typical and the speakers are heavy given their height (64lbs ea IIRC). They have dual 5-way gold binding post for bi-amping/bi-wiring.

They're a very respectable speaker, but I haven't heard any of the new line. IIRC, in 1997 Julian Hirsch of Stereo Review magazine gave the CGT's a glowing review where he stated that the "CGT had the lowest bass distortion measurements of any speaker I have reviewed, at any price."

I thought they went out of business until I was reading S&V's 05 buyer's guide and they had new models listed.
    Anyway, here is Pinnacle's website:

True, but at least you can spell Pinnacle...

I've heard them. Nice speakers.. was just smart-assin' in original post...

Only thing I'll add is eff' the mainstream, here or anywhere else. Listen - Compare - Choose - Buy... and , if necessary, - Return - Listen - Buy Again - Listen and repeat as necessary....

    Kinda like shampooing... ;)

EDIT: Damn... I think doro's beginning to rub off on me... Is there some lotion or something I can get for this?
