I just noticed that crutchfield has already dropped the LSiW . Is there a problem with it ? For such a new product it didn't last long. Sounds like the PSW1200 all over again.

There are internal problem with the sub that pose safety issues........

If you have one, you are to return it to the place you purchased it from.

Hey Paul, I'm not concerned about my safety.

Feel free to send me one of the broke-dick LSiW's, I'll use it anyway.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I heard a dude got blown out his apartment window when a serious bass note hit...thus the recall. From my sources in low places, Polk will be providing seat belts, ready-mix, and rebar with the next run...

I'll pass on the details as I get them...:D

Hey Paul, where's my XM tuner for evaluation?

    man I'm on a roll.....

This is what I received today from Crutchfield:

"We have been informed that Polk Audio is recalling their new LSIW subwoofer due to possible safety concerns (reports from some customers of excessive heat). "

Tonight I need to see if it appears hot although in the past when I felt it while running it did not appear hot.

If it does not appear overly warm I think I am going to wait until there are fixed LSiW models so that I can get an exchange, versus having to put the PSW404 back in, and then take it out again once the LSiWs are fixed.

Not to discourage you, but the LSiW was the fixed version (basically) of the never releasedPSW808, which was about a year ordeal............
