I'm looking to upgrade my home system, and I want some opinions; First let me tell you what I have, fronts are rt2000i, center cs400i , rear rt600i (4) , Im looking to upgrade my receiver, I've been looking at the harman avr-630 ,onkyo tx-sr702 ,and denon avr 3805, I will use it 90% movies 10% music. any suggestions? also I'm new to the 7.1 mode do I need a new dvd player for 7.1? also ,I just bought a new tv set ( phillips 50" lcd hdtv ready widescreen) so I bought a new dvd player but I started to think about it and I don't know if to play 7.1 I need a different dvd player ( i bough a sonyDVP-NS725P ). Also, do I need just an antenna to get hd over the air or do I need a decoder too? thank you.

answers to your questions in reverse order:
1: - If your TV doesn't have a decoder built in, you'll need a separate one of those along with an OTA antenna.
2: - Any DVD player should do 7.1
3: - Of those 3 receivers I like the 3805 the best, but for about the same price of the 3805 you could step up to the AVR 7200 by HK (probably have to order online) which is a beast...
not sure if it's an option, but you may also want to consider adding a sub as well. THose 2000s do bass well, but don't dig deep enough for a true HT experience. -
Pretty well nailed that one Otto...
Might point out that the "any" DVDP doing 7.1 would be via digital output to a 7.1 AVR. Older model DVDP's will likely be limited to 5.1 if use their analog output...
A good sub will also lighten your AVR's load considerably...
Later on the addition of an outboard amp for your 2000's could also increase your satisfaction level.
More later,
Tour...

If you get the Onk 702 from Crutchfield, you get a DVD player for free.
