The problem is that I have just purchased a TX-DS595 which the new one is replacing. The new model (called TX-SR600) has much better specs and looks a better deal.

I have two more weeks to return the current one and get a full refund. Should I do that and than weight for the new one to come out (hopefully in April). The only problem would be that I will be receiver less in the meantime.

What do you guys suggest. Is the new model worth this exercise?

Thanks,
Imran

i would return right befor you can't and go to another store that sells recevers with a good return polocy and buy one and return it that shold get to you to the release date of the new onkyo make sure they dont charge you a re stocking fee when you buy and return the recever but that is my take. wat did you replace when you bought your curent recever?

I am a big Onkyo fan and that sounds like a great reciever. The street price will make it awesome for the $. It is really loaded.
Thanks for the heads up and I say go for it. I love my Onky:)

this looks to be a real contender. right in there with what the outlaw 1050 has to offer(except a true discrete 6th channel), this may take some of their sales...

The 595 replaced the 494. I bought this one from CC. I am aslo thinking of returning this one and getting a new one from some other store that has a good return policy and do this till the new one arrives in the market. The problem with this is that most of the stores doesnt have this in stock (may be due to its phasing out).

the biggest down side to this reciever, is it looks to have no pre-outs for amplification. still seems to be a good value for the pricetag...

I just checked the Denon's site and found new line AVR there. Seems like this is not a good time to buy recievrs as most of the manufacturers are coming up with new models.
