Hello all,

I currently have a stereo system that has Monster stereo cable and interconnects throughout. I've heard that one can do much better than Monster at similar prices. What would you folks suggest for replacing my Monster cables? It would have to be close to the same price, but what I'm really hoping for is a noticable improvement in sound quality.

Well theres a can of worms.

IMO, what you have is prolly just fine. If you just want some "cool factor" cables, there is a lot to choose from. But if you are looking to improve sound quality - Save your hard earned bread and get some killer speakers.

    Just my opinion.

well, I do have a pair of Polk LSi 25 speakers and I'm VERY happy with them. I just thought maybe getting new cable would be a cheaper way to improve sound than getting any more equipment as I've already spent about $5,000 on my system so far.

DH-Labs. I did the same side by side and gave away the monster with the amp I sold to Wodom1 and kept the DH-Labs, I lent him them to get his opinion but have yet to hear back. The sound was very clean and detailed compared to the Monsters.

Definitely change out your interconnects. Try Audioquest Copperheads if you want to stay well under $100. The AQ Corals are good, too. Kimber Heros are little bit more, but quite worthy of consideration. Either one will be an immediate improvement over what you have.

When it comes to cheap, good quality cables. There are only 5 things you need to know, Signalcable, Signalcable, Signalcable, Signalcable, Signalcable.

I must concur. Frank gives us a discount and he has some quality product. We also just got to listen to his new silvers, nice and open. I have Analog 2's, tight authoritave bass, good clarity.

For the price, SignalCable competes very well.

How did they compare to the BL-1's I sent down? or didn't anyone compare them?

    Dave,

To be quite honest, I didn't really do any cable comparisons. Some were just switched out from time to time. The only reason I remember the silver SC's is because I put them in and wanted to get a take on them. I didn't really get to do a critical demo, just too much to do.

If you want, and if you can, add them to the Cable Swap. I'd be more than glad to check them out and give you an honest impression...
