Anybody else see this yet? I watched it last night. Man o' man, what a great movie!!! Two thumbs up, way up!!

I've never been so entranced by the ending of a movie. I was literally on the edge of my seat at the end, when the two main characters started figuring everything out. That was great.

What a story.....

I can believe that, my fiancee went upstairs about 25 minutes into the flick.

I, on the other hand, love movies like that. I thought it was great, and didn't want it to end. Wildly entertaining.

It's a very good movie, but they tried waaaaay to hard to be artsy.

By artsy, do you mean they tried to make it seem like a small, indy film? I got that feeling alittle, but I still think the story, and the performances, were just super.

I saw it in the theatre and wished I hadn't......I can see why some would like it, but for me it was just too "artsy". Seemed very disorganized, but maybe that was the point. Kate Winslett is a serious babe though!

I saw it last week and liked it a lot. I think it is one of those films that you have to watch more than once to really appreciate. Charlie Kaufman who wrote it always has a dark but very interesting style. He wrote Adaptation and Being John Malcovich.

Adaptation is one of my all time favorites. Very deep. I can see why his movies are usually not understood. You need to watch them a few times before it really sinks in. But very intellectual.

Ah that explains it, I didnt care for adaptation either.. Not that i don't like a deep movie.. Just don't want to be like "what the hell is going on" in a movie... I guess i like action, adventure, comedy and some horror/thriller.... and these are just a bit much to try and enjoy...

I also liked Adaptation, but didn't like Being John Malkovich.

Another movie that this brings to mind is About Schmitt. Not a similiar plot, but a similiar feel.

I dunno, maybe I just wasnt in the mindset to 'follow' this movie. I mean it was like a freakin maze...

Maybe I just dont have the mental capacity to figure out wth was going on, I dunno

I just know I couldnt stand to watch it past more than 45-50 minutes

However, there were plenty of scenes where my room literally fell in from bass scenes, very nice sound in some parts...

This movie wasn't hard to understand at all.

What I mean by too artsy...is that they tried to hard when they already had a good story. They didn't tie up quite a few loose ends that they made for themselves by trying a little too hard to be clever.

On the 'hard to understand' scale it was at a 4 out of 10 for me. Kaufman's adaptation was a lot trickier.

    Thought and feeling provoking,
    and as always,
kaufmans scripts go down the road less traveled.

Stay with it, and it comes together at the end. I also recommend watching this a second time.

Features a darker and less amped side of Carey's psyche.

Becks version of "Everybodys got to learn sometime" is pretty good.
Not as haunting as the original Korgis version, but good.

Just watched it tonight and loved it. Thought they did a wonderful job with the creativity. Was a lil artsy but well done. Really showed off the character's personallities. Well writen and well acted. Nothing I'd own or rent again, but would watch it on TV if nothing else was on...

I just finished watching it and I really liked it. One of the more innovative films I have watched in the last year. I can see where some people would say eff it and turn it off or walk out of the room(like my wife did) but it all came around in full circle and was worth it.

    2 thumbs up

Adored this movie. Very surreal and dreamlike. I've seen it three times and keep picking up on new stuff. A bit difficult the first time, but pays off with repeated viewings. Saw it in the theater and it moved me. Some of the experiences were a little too close to dreams I've had in the past. I love how most of the effects were done with camera tricks..not cg.

I absolutely loved this film. It was refreshingly different, while boasting superb performances from all involved. I wish they'd given a bit more info on where the Elijah Wood character showed up, but other than that I thought it was very well handled. I thought the non-linear narrative and editing perfectly matched the subject matter, a couple of things that may contribute to the idea of it being too artsy. Really was disappointed to see this one so neglected at the Oscars.
