if thats madmax, i'll back off, besides, looks like the guy that bid after him put in a monster bid. i'm gonna wait awhile anyway. i dont know if i'd go much higher than his bid, which was enterred before mine anyway (and i really dont know how high it is.) Max, if your gonna gun for this, give me a heads up.

not for nothing, but i was a little guilty of price hiking too. i'm wondering how i was supossed to know that you were the original bidder.

I saw russ jack it to 50, which tells me one simple thing. he reeaallly wants that sign. i see no ill will here, especially since we did not know you were bidding until the above quoted post.

p.s. i am still ensconsed in the "i'm out of the auction" category, but i might change my mind. as the price rises though, the chances of that will be slim.

That's the beauty of an auction. If you want the sign, and it's worth the money, you pay. Regardless of who else is bidding on it. Russ wasn't doing it to be an ****. He didn't know you were the high bidder. But even if he did, he still would've bid on it because he _wants_ it. If it's too rich for you, then too bad.

It was too rich for me at like $25

. Would've complimented my 5jr's and my 10's nicely, but other stuff comes around, and I don't need something else to spend my money on anyway.

dharding, don't expect people to know who you are, or that you're bidding on somethign if YOU HAVEN'T TOLD PEOPLE. I'm not relying on someone elses anonymous ID of you if you're not all about putting your hand on things yourself.

If that's a concept that you can't grasp, probably best to just deal with trumpetherald.com so no one's little fragile appendages are damaged.....

Actually i did mention he was a polkie ahead of time, Not that it matters at this point.:)

I was under the impression from previous transactions/auctions bid on, That we didn't bid on anothers interest. But that's cool with me.. I had passed on several items in the past in fear of stepping on toes.. But let the future bidding began..

that post was after i bid, fact is no one had a clue dan was bidding on this. if his ebay name was the same as club polk (as is mine), i might understand. but i had no way of knowing it was him. and by polkie, i thought he was a polk fan, not a club polk member, again, knowing this might have changed things.

for the record, i feel withdrawing the bid was poor form. it was obviously was not an incorrectly typed bid amount, as was the reason listed for the retraction. that is a bit unfair to the seller.

Ok, lets all make a list of what our ebay Id's are, so we can call 'dibs' on ebay too.

What a crock. (I had no idea what your ebay ID was to begin with) I figured since it appears to be from the same era as the signed Monitor 7a's that Troy has now, it would be neat to display with them at future gatherings. It wasn't even for 'me', so don't give me this gentleman crap.

Anyone remember the signage Micah auctioned off for Polk? How many of us put a nice bid in on that one?

On that note, my $50.50 bid is in, and I won't be persuing it any further, so dry your eyes and get your sign on, if you want it.

Sorry that wasnt directed at you, or anyone for that matter.

But i DID know it was him, i figured it out awhile back and mentioned it in his post for the 1C's he was bidding on, and several other polks he won on e-bay and posted about in the last 2 weeks.. he posted everyone he won.. But again im not bidding on it... That would have been a great idea for troys speakers though..

On a side note: i actually did think people here were laying claim to e-bay auctions also, which i thought was a bit much... The FM here is fine with the rules to keep things straight and honest.. BUT e-bay is a public venue and we should all be free to bid on what we want at will... Otherwise post a thread.. Please don't bid i really really want these... or something

This whole delima here, I just don't know the right answer. In the past I've let it go to others only to find out they would not spend as much as I was willing to so neither of us got it. It's just a bad situation with no real answer. It certainly isn't cut throat here. In any case I did not plan to bid any more on the sign, just thought it was pretty cool for what I bid.
