First time I've been on this message board and I just recently purchased a HT system and was wondering how I should set up my sub. I understand the positioning and the proper cables but I'm confused with the frequency it should be set at on the back and the 0-180 switch? Here are the other components of my HT.
Polk R50's
RTi4's
CSi3's
PSW404
Harman Kardon 230

The frequency switch on the back cuts off any frequencies sent to the subwoofer higher than what you have set the switch at. This is so that your subwoofer plays only the low notes (according to how you have set it). 80 Hz is usually a good place to start. I can't quite remember the details of the phase switch though. I think you just play around with it until it sounds the best.
btw welcome to club polk. -
