Help with my headache =(

Only my luck. I turned 24 five days ago, and still being in college, I WAS eligable for my parents' medical insurance, until I turned 24. Now I have nothing...
I have had a headache for the last 3 days that feels like a sinus headache but it's only on my right side. When I get sinus headaches it usually affects both sides of my head. I live in central Ohio and the weather has been fluctuating recently so that may be causing it. I've never had a sinus headache for more than a day so this is starting to worry me.
A lady I work with said her husband and daughter have both had a headache for the last week but it hurt in the back of their heads. This one is more behind my eye and along my temple. She said they felt a little nauseus and today I do feel this way, and a bit weak. I know a multi-day headache is nothing to play around with but I'm pretty poor and with no medical, gah, it sucks.
I did some reading on WebMD and it sounds a little like a migraine but I don't want to take any chances.
Do any of you guys have any insight about this? Anyone else feeling like this? Maybe it's some sort of virus going around or maybe I really need to see a doctor and pay up.
One last thing. This probably has nothing to do with it but I might as well say it. 7-8 days ago I was in my brother's basement helping him hang a light and a small piece of wood or dust, not sure, got in my eye. Wasn't anything major and after a few minutes the pain went away. I'm sure it washed out, but not 100% sure. It's wierd because it hurts behind that eye but it's more of a sinus pressure than if the particle had cut my eye or optic nerve. Just something to throw out there.
Thanks!

My aunt gets severe migranes, and I believe that she said that taking B-vitamin supplements helps a lot. See if you can find a bottle of B complex and try it out. I don't see how it could hurt...
Beyond that... um, make sure you're not dehydrated, and get a job with health coverage. I'm 18 and not in college, so I need health coverage before I turn 19 in april or I'm in trouble!Ludicrous gibs! -
I have degenerative disk disease. I always have a headache, sometimes they get really bad (migraines). I've been dealing with it for 4 years now. I've seen several neurologists, not could help. After a dozen MRI's, physical rehab, etc etc etc, I am with a pain specialist now.
If there is a headache medicine, I've tried it. Anything from morphine to Tylenol, I've tried it. For me, the best thing is Excedrin Migraine and Percocet when it gets really bad. I always have a headache though, always, morning, noon, and night.
For most people, it can be a sign there is something very serious going on. Sinusitis, aneurysm, cancer, brain bleeds, etc. all can cause long term headaches. Some can be fatal.
The best thing you can do is go to the ER. They have to treat you poor or not. Headaches, especially long-term, can be warning signs of potentially fatal conditions. SEE A DOCTOR!!!Go BIG or go home! -
Well, I wasn't going to bring it up, but...
About 4 or 5 years ago my mother suddenly started getting severe headaches. Headaches to the point where she couldn't think or move or really do anything. They continued for several days while our doctor tried different things. Finally, they did an MRI and found that she had a large brain tumor that was putting pressure on her brain. She said that it felt like someone had her head in a vice and was hitting it with a hammer at the same time.
The biopsy after the first surgery showed very bad news... cancer.
Sadly, 2 years ago after 2 surgeries and several clinical trials, she passed away. She had the worst type of cancer you can get in the brain (glioblastoma multiforme).
My point is, if this gets bad..... you _need_ to have it checked out. An MRI can tell you wonders about what's going on inside your skull. Someone will pay for it...
Don't mean to scare you, but you really have to be careful when it comes to headaches. They can mean any number of things. Hell, you could just have a cavity in one of your upper teeth that makes it feel like it's behind your eye.

Sorry to read that nadams...
I had chronic headaches for years.... sinus and migraine. Did finally do the Catscan thing (they looked at my head and found nothing...).
While ID'ing which headache is which seems simple, i.e., temple(s) = Migraine and eyebrows = sinus, sometimes one can underlie the other...
Ibuprophen (Advil) and Non-Drying Sudafed (blue gel caps) used to be the ticket washed down with fair amount of coffee (warmth plus caffeine). I'd take 4 Ibuprophen at a time. Pretty much worked for both.More later,

Hello -
Sounds like maybe "Cluster Headaches"
Do a google on them for symptoms.
I have these and would not wish them on my worst enemy. I certainly hope you are not getting these.
Good luck - Hope they go away soon.

Honestly, a foreign object lodged in the eye cavity can cause such headaches. Your sinus cavities lie just behind your eyes so yes, a spec of dust may be causing a problem for you.
Best thing to do for it is like what was already said. Visit the ER.
Beyond that I can't say what to do about the headaches. I don't get headaches, I'm just a carrier! Alot of people who complain about headaches are usually having too much caffienne or not drinking enough water.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

A HUGE thanks to everyone who replied! I read them all but didn't want to reply until after I got checked out (yesterday around 4pm).
Turns out I have a sinus infection, even though I've had a few in the past this one showed minimal signs of one. The doctor said only 50% of the time will the mucus turn yellow, where it had for me in the past. To get rid of the blockage she (yaya, a woman doc woot! hehe) told me to mix 16oz of water with a tablespoon of salt and to snort it into my nostrils. I did it and BAMO, headache GONE. It hurt like a **** but it worked. Tons of mucus came out which relieved me of the pressure in my sinus cavity. I have to do this every 4-6 hours because it fills back up until the infection goes away, but it does take away the pain. Antibiotics were also prescribed.
I'm extremely relieved and thankful so many of you replied! -
Glad to hear it wasn't anything bad. Glad I wasn't there when the mucus started flying, either
.
Good on you for going to the Dr.Ludicrous gibs! -
