Hello everyone....... new to the board.

I have recently just purchased two Polk EX 104 10" Subs for my car. I have a Trans AM GTA Hatchback. I want to mount my subwoofer box on top of my gas tank hump in the back. I borrowed a friends box that was 13 H x 27 W x 12 L. The problem is that 13 H is too big for the back of my car the batchback of my car wont close right. So by custom making my box, and going 12 H, would this be all right? would this affect my air space inside the box? Would have ample room for the speakers? Tips needed on box building. Please help. Im not to educated in the box building field.

Thanks,

Tom

    Hey Kim,
Thanks for your help but i have a couple more questions.
What did you mean by this:
This volume will work just fine with the GNX104's. I would recommend porting the enclosure with ( 2 ) 3 inch ports that are 10 inches in length. This will result in higher gain and greater efficiency for the subs. Just make sure that if you plan on bridging your amplifier to drive the subs, check to see if it is capable of driving a 2 Ohm mono load.
