My ceiling is 8 ft tall. Should I mount my FXi30's up next to the ceiling(only wall mount option) or place them on stands 48"-5?"-6?" off the floor? Hopefully the picture will help.

I set damn near on the back wall also. I’ve got mine mounted on the back wall approximately five feet above my head when seated and they sound good there. I had no choice between stands and wall mount due to room layout
Get a couple of friends (sure handed, patient) to hold them in different locations before you get out the power tools or buy stands.

How far are your speakers from the ceiling? If I mount mine to the wall, then I have to place up against the ceiling because of the window and other wall oranaments. I am considering stands if ceiling reflections will intefere with anything. Also, they would be easier to move up, down, and side to side.
I will probably just have to make a good guess where they are supposed to go if I mount them to the wall. My wife is pregnant, so she can't do a whole lot.

From the ceiling, I’d say mine are about 14 inches.
Someone else should chime in on the reflection part, but the way I understand it the speakers are designed to throw out sound in multiple directions to create an enveloping sound, so I’m really not concerned with ceiling reflection where mine are mounted.
