Diatones??
I saw a local ad for these:
Diatone DS-600z speaker system(2)dark brown wood casing(beautiful cond.),6 ohm impedance,woofer 150w,mid&tweeter 50w,serial #L 13343.$100$ or best.
I've done a search, but can't find much on these speakers. I'm soliciting opinions. Has any ever heard these? I appreciate any input.

- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Diatone is better known in the US as Mitsubishi.

Oh; well, that's certainly interesting. Mitsubishi, as we know of 'em, doesn't make speakers, do they?George Grand wrote: »

Diatone is a Japanese market-only high-end brand. I believe Akai was associated with Mitsubishi as well.
Nah, none of the Japanese manufacturers really do anything major here in the US in terms of speakers. There are occasional high-end designs from Sony ES or Pioneer Elite that get released (manufactured and designed as well) in the US though. However, the Japanese brands do release a good amount of high-end speakers in their home market.
Oh, Pioneer's TAD division has shown their ultra high-end designs at various hi-fi shows. Check out these photos from Soundstage.com.
You can also read about JVC's unique wood-cone speakers in this thread at head-fi.org.

$14,000 a pair?!?!?!??! For surrounds?!?!?!
My word; some people have too much money. I would've hoped they would've at least saved some dough up to buy something practical!! Like, say, a Ferrari F-50, or a Lamborghini Gallardo, or Porsche Carrera GT...:D
Of course, those kinds of folks probably already have a few of those cars...George Grand wrote: »
