A couple questions about RTi100 + surrounds etc..

I've had my RTi100 for awhile now but haven't had the time to finish up my setup. I ran into a guy that was selling some

FX500i
CS245i
and threw in Energy Subwoofer E XL-S8

all for 250. I'm pretty sure I got a steal, hooked them all up and it sounds great. But, I know these are not matching surrounds for the RTi100. Is it worth while to consider going from the cs245i to CSi30 or even Csi40?

Swap the FX500i for some FXi30?

They're all powered by my HK AVR500

You got a terrible deal, but to help you out I'll give you the $250 you paid for it all so you're not out any money.

Really though, the only way to tell is to listen for yourself. If you like them together, keep them. If not, then try something else.

Thanks it's 7am and you just ruined my day. LOLZ:rolleyes:

Well anything would sound good now since it's the first time all of my components are somewhat matching. I was using some crappy KLH for the center which I couldn't even hear vocal at all and the RT15 in the rear was barely hizzing @ high volumes. I can actually tell the center from the fronts and the rear actually sounded like they're coming from the rear now.

I hope you know I was joking. It was a good deal(I just want your speakers).
If they are in good shape, I would have paid that much for everything just like you did.

i think you will be fine, especially in the surround department. the only thing i think you migh tnot like is the size of the cs245i. it might seem over powered by the mains.

for some strange reason I feel as if the center are quite loud and big. It's sitting on top of a 60" wide screen tv and it's probably 1/3 of the tv's lenght. So far I've been nothing but impressed, I'll stick with it for a few months before I get bored. The new RT12 sound pretty attractive too just waiting for the price to drop a little more on those puppies.

Have you checked at your local Circuit City for the RTi12's. I know one here in Memphis still has a pair or so for under $1000 on clearance. If I were serious about buying them, I could probably get them for closer to $900, but I've already spent my electronics quota for the year.

    Enjoy your new setup.

Fry's usually have blow out deals with new models arrive. I got my RTi100 for 280 bucks a pair last year. I'm gonna hang out until the RT12 drop below 500 before I take a bite. My buddy works @ Fry's and he told me the mark ups on those speakers are outrangeous.

when i used my cs245i with my rti150s the rti150s definitely over powered the center. but my system wasnt calibrated so that could probably be avoided by calibrating.
