    You should dude. I think it would be fun as long as they classify competitors by gear and not by wattage. I mean is it really fair to judge the $1000 system against a $10,000 system just because they both are from 1-600 watts?

    Ive always said classes should be by mods. OEM speaker locations against OEM speaker locations. DIY'ers against DIY'ers. Professionally installed, multi thousand dollar, custom fiberglass systems against...well you know.

    Crap...MECA isn't in Utah. The Stock or Stock+ class would probably be my only chance. Anything similar to the stock class from another organization?

    As far as MECA goes, you sing up for a 1 year membership for $20 and youre all set.

    Im not sure about IASCA or USACI but it is my understanding that they classify their competitors by total power and if they are pro or not. Which means you could be in there with some dude with a $15,000 install.

    I ran in a meca once... I agree it's MUCH better as far as classing regulations. You're in there with you're own kind. I went in under street with my sub output broken on the deck, used the full-spectrum rear output for the subs instead, forgot to fold my rear seat down and take out my hatch shelf, didn't have my subs in the right box, I didn't have my ports plugged or the box positioned right, and I was only running 150w to each of my 2 DB12's... that got me 137.2 DB... and It felt good to have run it once even with that $hitty score. Really fun environment at the meca runs. If you can do it better than the rest, you're gonna get rewarded for it, and you can do it without being a millionaire.

    Great! I wonder how long it will take for that to wind up in a signature....or should I say SINGnature. {crickets} Anybody? {tumble weeds}

    I hope the SQL is the same way! Im hoping Ill get in there with a bunch of dimwits with Panasonic coaxials and Verge amps!

    The best part of the MECA classifications is that you have to have done the work yourself. Youre allowed some help but the majority of the system has to be installed by you in the Stock and Amateur class. Thats awesome!

    Don't be too surprised about something like that... at Steel Valley Regionals, there was one guy with a bandpass box and a really cheap CD player... there were 3 or 4 other guys with really cheap BB quality installs. Pretty bad when I was close to beating some of them with two 6.5"ers playing (and that was all!).
