Anyone who's seen this DVD and likes to laugh...should buy the 1st season. It's only like $25 bucks and you'll laugh your **** off.

He's from Britain and he plays 3 different charachters - Ali G, Bruno (the austrian fashion expert), and Borat (Kazekstan news reporter).

I assure you it's hilarious. The topics he talks about run the gamut. There is a bit of political stuff, but it's hardly overt. He doesn't take giant shots at these people at all. He esentially uses people to say really dumb stuff and get a reation. He's got interviews with Newt Gingrich all the way to the other end with Raplh Nader (hilarious to watch).

I guess you could say it's kind of like South Park IN THAT he rips on just about everyone.

This isn't for kids at all.

Oh man, I've seen a few episodes on TV and it's really funny sh#t. Gotta love the 'poor video quality' and funky music when he's playing Borat. He just creeps me out with the Bruno thing LOL.

The Pat Buchanen interview was a hoot as well.

Had seen that the show was on HBO, but never watched it until after I caught him guesting on Letterman a couple months ago. It takes him six months to get material for 6 shows because he uses no make-up, false beards, wigs, etc.

Also talked about how all the folks he ends up "interviewing" assume his producer (always dressed in suit and tie) is the interviewer until Ali G sits down with them. Very off-the-wall stuff.

As good as the one-on-one interviews are, I like the panel talk show as much or more. With four unwitting guests all collectively looking agast at their moron of a host...

Not to mention Borat getting a couple Brits to sniff his and each others butts out of respect for the customs of his homeland.
    More later,

AIIIIIGHT! RESPEK! i had the honor of purchasing his Compleet Seereez and lending it to everyone at my work. this is good stuff. LMFAO the whole time.

i revived this thread because i finally gave it a chance. over the years i've caught glimpses of him on HBO but he looked so rediculous, i never stopped to check it out and changed channels. i haven't watched 'Borat' yet, but it should come to DVD soon, but heard the reviews and figured i'd give ali g a chance on HBO. i'm glad i did! there are others out there that have never heard of this. well, now you do. don't wait, go get it!

Ali G, Borat and Bruno (pictured respectively) are the three characters he plays on each of the Ali G shows.

Man, I forgot all about this post. Pre-Borat craze. Unfortunately this comic genius likely won't be able to get away with these characters anymore. :(

    Booyakasha!

not in america. too much exposure now. but still worth a purchase! no widescreen, 2.0 audio, but still, priceless!

dave, you check out his older movie "Indahouse"? different, but funny. better than "Malibu's Most Wanted" with Jaime Kennedy.

    Like March 6th or something.

I don't know of any others from him. Although you might want to check out Shaun of the Dead and the upcoming movie The Fuzz. They're friends of Cohen.
