    dual banana plugs?

Only half kidding, here. If all your speakers accept dbp's (Hey, a new acronym... :) ), it's as fast and clean a method as you can do.

You're obviously getting "bleed-through" to the speakers that are off-line. The contacts in the selector may be dirty or faulty, or maybe the switcher is not rated for the wattage you are pushing...

Issue with A-B'ing speakers through a switching box is matching the spl, and that adds rheostats (sp?) to the mix. If volumes aren't match the more sensitive/ efficient speaker will be louder to some degree and will usually sound better (assuming the speakers are close in SQ). The issue with switching boxes and rheostats is they add a lot of "junk" potential to the signal path.

If you want to persist in your mad scheme ;) , go to your local audio store and ask about the selectors they use. And/ or do an internet search. Might come up with a schematic and then a trip to your local electronics store ought to net you a "cheap" route.

You could do this project: http://sound.westhost.com/absw.htm

I'm sure there's a multi-way selector you could use instead of the switch in the specs.

Just connect the speakers to the receiver.

    Pair 1, A
    Pair 2, B
    Pair 3, Zone 2
    Go BIG or go home!

Saw a 6 speaker box by Phoenix on ebay... Starting bid could not be lower, but I think the Seller is way out in left field with his shipping charges...

It's most likely due to the close proximity of the connections inside the unit.
