My Nephew's system

Hey Polk team!

I've been assisting my 19 year old nephew over the last 8-10 months with piecing together a surround system. He has that kind of impatience that leads to quick purchases and then regrets them later. He was ready to buy one of those all-in-one Sony systems last year. I promptly told him that I would kick him in the a** if he did that. I also told him the other foot will be inserted if he bought anything other than Polk!!!

Anyway, I told him to be patient and buy one piece at a time. Buy bigger and buy one piece at a time and it will all come together! You'll be much happier in the end!!!

His first purchase was the RT55i's. He was blown away by them. A few months down the road, we scored a used CS400 for very cheap. Today, his FX500i's arrived. We scored them at a discounted price. Next up on his list is a surround receiver and 16x9 RPTV. Right now he has a 25" TV and a cheapo Onkyo stereo receiver.

This weekend i'm taking my receiver up there to fire up the system. Call it a movie day! Yummy...pizza...snacks...mmmmm!

I told him to learn from my quick buy impulse mistakes of the past. He's really happy that he listened to me. Oh yeah, pics will be on the way soon. I'll keep ya updated on how it goes this Saturday.

John
No excuses!

John-Doesnt Polk make "all in one systems". I have the rm6600 set which sounds fine along with the PSW350 subwoofer.

Yes, Polk does make all in one systems. We really wanted to build a big system that could accomodate surround movies as well as music.

The all-in-one systems are nice, but the route we took will be much better in the end, which is larger and fuller sound.
